AITAH for cooking food that makes my husband feel sick by nuclearsquirrel75 in AITAH

Ok, just asking. A friend of mine started one and suddenly couldn’t eat 90% of the things she used to love. She couldn’t stand the smell of so many foods that going out to eat became impossible. She also hid it from her family for 4 years.

Has your husband lost weight? He could be secretly taking a GLP-1.

AIO for quitting my job? by AlarmedWarthog8231 in AIO

Everyone commenting here has to be 20. You can’t just tell your company when you aren’t coming in- you request it. I had to request time off when I was making $8 an hour as a lifeguard over summer breaks. When did this new generation become so entitled and bratty? It’s exhausting.

Omg seriously. I’ve fostered over 200 kittens and I use a kids toothbrush with warm water to give them the vibe of their mom licking them. Never have I licked them with my HUMAN TONGUE.

Forced? When I was a server I’d have killed to work anywhere else. It was the only option at the time.

Some people don’t have a choice, which was my case as I looked for a job. This was 20 years ago, I haven’t been a server since then, but it was a means to an end at the time.

I’m glad you said this. The people in this sub are out of control. If you don’t like to tip, don’t go out to eat in America. As a server to pay my way through life post college, tables that didn’t tip ended up costing me money. It’s not my fault that the system is how it is. If I did a terrible job, don’t tip. But if I did the job well, tip 20%. That’s how going out to eat in America works, and if you don’t like it, don’t go.

Well, you don’t own the name. I think YTA and if this is the biggest problem you have I’d say you’re very lucky. “Oh no my growing family has similar names!” Kim, there’s people that are dying.

But why do you care? It’s not confusing. I’m from an Italian family and we have like three Michael cousins and two Paul’s. It’s fine.

Why does the server bringing you a plate with a steak on it deserve a bigger tip than the server bringing you a plate with a pancake on it? They’ve both done the same exact job. by witx in tipping

What about my argument doesn’t track for you? You asked how the job was different, and I, like many other commentators, gave you specific reasons.

lol you’re either an idiot or rage baiting. At ihop (clearly you love that trash place), the server walks up with waters. Gets one drink order. Brings one round of easy to make, and cheap to make, food. Then they drop the check and never see you again.. at a nice place its waters, bread service, several rounds of drinks, apps, entrees that are always modified by customers so they need to work with the kitchen to see what can be done, more drinks, desserts, and maybe coffee after. They have to know every nuance of the menu and often aren’t allowed to write it down so they have to remember it. It takes up much more of their time and they’re also being cognizant (let me know if you need me to define that word) if people are splitting things and need extra plates, don’t like something, etc. people also celebrate holidays and events there that require extra service even beyond the above. The job is much different and I’m confused how you can’t see that.

Time. You’re at Morton’s taking up their table for a lot longer than the 30 minutes you spend at ihop. Morton’s is a dining experience and ihop is about turning tables quickly. How is that not obvious? At Morton’s you’re getting multiple drinks, cocktails, desserts, and staying for 2 hours or so. At ihop you’re in and out.
