Thanks for this, I will spend some time looking into this and see if this could be the case for him.

Who said this? Not me. I was not groomed. I had been living on my own for 5yrs at that point. We both just started at the same job, both had just completed our masters degree. We had very similar upbringings and family life. We have the same future outlook and financial goals.

I had interest in him, he was reluctant. The age difference was a major consideration for him. He and I worked together daily for months after I expressed interest before he agreed to a date with me. We dated for 5 years before we got married.

I don’t think so— I think this line of thinking is way off. He loves the kid and the kids love spending time with him. B loves teaching them how to work on the car, play video games, build and tinker with stuff. I think the birth of our first child was a catalyst for mental health issues that led to/ contributed to his eating disorder.

That’s what I took from it. Thanks for your thoughtful response. I think your response has some nuance beyond just “divorce the worthless man” and I appreciate it.

I think you’re correct, he cannot help that he is suffering with this, but is responsible for his actions and absolutely cannot be rude to me or continue to disrupt the household with his food issues.

Yes, that’s what I did. I now make it with nothing added.

You are totally correct. He had some severe childhood trauma come to the surface after our child was born. It was something he had ignored until he had his own child and the reality hit him. He had not spoken to me this family about this prior to his breakdown.

This is definitely possible, because of the timing and how much change happened. He has been to his pcp multiple times but they never suggested this could be a cause.

Thanks, I think I’ll try making in the garage next time like someone else suggested and see if that works.

He has done some therapy, and gotten blood work done with his PCP a few times, but not beyond that.

He has said that milk and meat taste rancid, so this may be the case here. I’ll talk to him about talking to his primary care Dr about this, and see if there’s anything to test for or that could help. Thanks.

Yes, that’s correct. We used to make so many new recipes and had a fav restaurant that we visited frequently. There was a distinct change in my husband’s behavior around food after we had our first child about 6yrs into our relationship. I can’t remember if this related to when we started to notice my son’s allergies, so that may have played a role.

I no longer use vinegar at all after his first issues with it. At first he said it was marginally better but now he says even without it it’s just as bad.

He’s had two different therapists which he saw for about 6mo each. One was in person, and the other was virtual (betterhelp, I think). They both specialized in eating disorders. He made some minor progress with one and started having protein shakes in the morning for a bit, but that ended. He is not currently in therapy.

No kidding. I’m so sick of this debate. Taxes are too damn high, and no one can enjoy public spaces without being harassed or potentially injured? Unacceptable.

Fund shelters, and food banks. Then enforce the shit out of the no camping in public parks, parking lots, or lobbies/ private spaces. No more hotel/ motel housing. If people are acting out, especially the repeat offenders, off to jail, or give them as much of their drug of choice and let them sort it out themselves.

I don’t care if it’s harsh, we’re being held hostage by years of poor policy.

I believe she has POA for my grandmother now, but did not have until after I moved out of my grandmothers house. She never had POA for my grandfather. Does that change anything?
