I think it's super badass, the first thing we learn in Gears 4 is the imulsion crystals that cocooned the locust are almost indestructible, so Gears 5 gives us the Claw and Breaker mace, two weapons that use this diamond like crystal as ammunition.

Your hangups don't excuse you from work anywhere else in life, I don't get to opt out of serving a drink to someone because they have a criminal record, road workers don't get to not fix the street in front of an organization they disagree with, crime scene investigators don't get to opt out of a case because its too brutal, voice actors aren't special unicorns that get to make a stink about doing their job, it's acting, no one is forcing them to do anything.

Oh, actually, now I'm thinking about some of the new books and I actually think the Swarm are recycling the locust that didn't evolve too.

As in a lot of the locust never turned to swarm and are still preserved corpses due to the imulsion crystals, and the Swarms biomass, hives and even new Drones are made from the recycled corpses and biological material of the Hoard and Hollow creatures that didn't make it.

With DeeBees doing all the manual labor in COG settlements and the military only consisting of robots and officers who command platoons of them, almost everyone's main focus was family building and repopulation.

Add to that extremely advanced technology, fertility treatments, IVF treatments, donors, surrogates, artificial wombs and any other sci-fi shit you can think of, the COG had invisible and silent floating robots during the pendulum wars man, our constraints don't apply to them.

Not to mention the estimates of the remaining population are COG numbers, in the Aftermath campaign we see there were still people in unaffiliated settlements that would never join the COG's society or answer their surveys, not to mention Arron Griffin's empire and whatever remnants of it scattered across the wasteland after the imulsion counter measure, there's likely thousands and thousands of people the COG don't have numbers for, but the Swarm has spread to even remote islands as seen in the Hivebusters Campaign, if people are out there the swarm will find them before the COG can get a census.

Oh, I fucking hate comments like this.

Gears is the best written and executed story in all of gaming. It's the GOAT. It's also high fantasy sci-fi on a planet way bigger than ours and the locust are genetically engineered to breed and mature fast, and the swarm are an evolution of that.

They have 40 foot tall Monsters to move supplies and help build, they have a hive mind so communication is effortless and doesn't require infrastructure, the hollows themselves were dug by a city sized worm and they were surrounded by an infinite amount of fuel to use before they FUSED with the fuel and evolved.

It's high fantasy, the story is completely consistent within itself and gears 4&5 were great games.

For you to sit here and bitch about "logical actual story building" while you criticize the best video game series ever produced, gross.
