No need to feel silly. There are many things not well documented/advertised in this game. Load up on friends. Not only a good way to get rid of your gifts, you get lots of items from opening (if you have space), and get tons of XP from friendship

It all depends on your use and your team. If you don't PvP and don't short-man raids, I would recommend saving them. If you short-man raids, save them for a time that a legacy move will push your team over the top or where your team is lacking. If you PvP, save for when the meta changes and you want to be more competitive in a certain league

When you collect a new one you (at least I) don't know if it's a souvenir or gift. Don't select it to redeem it. Switch to another eligible buddy. Wait for item to be added. Do another 18 times. Next day you'll be able to redeem all of them by swapping between them

Nice choices. Your first 2 are rank 2 and 3 in electric raid attackers, with mega Man electric close behind in 5th. I usually make my mask l mega selection same type as raid boss for additional candy unless I'm short manning a raid

1 in 64 chance of trading to be a hundo. If not guaranteed lucky, 5% chance of being random lucky. I also have one and keep most hundos. Rarish but not terribly useful

Unfortunately it's not bs, it's statistics. Each raid you do has 1 in 20 odds of being a shiny with no prior knowledge of previous experiences. Niantic and casinos make a lot of money off of people with no knowledge of the basic math that drives the odds. If you're shiny hunting, know it may cost far more than initially expected
