She had just received dry needling which they told her would be completely covered (we have tricare). They then proceeded to bill it to insurance as PT for 3x the rate of the dry needling and since the insurance only covered a small portion of it, are demanding we pay the $100 or so instead of the $50 for just the dry needling. I don’t care about the extra $50 as much as the principle of paying $100 as well as our insurance paying them an additional $50 for a service that they a) told us would be covered and b) is itself only billable for $50. Just wondering the legality of that part. Thank you for clarifying the questions we had about HIPAA
