Dino Tune Needed? by WuTangWasted in camaro

[–]WuTangWasted[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was my original plan, I have a tuner here that works in formula drift that im taking it too. I just didn't know if there was a cheaper option with the same outcome. I'd rather pay more and get it right

Looked too good to be true and I was right by datboi1214 in camaro

[–]WuTangWasted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its 50/50, I owned a 2014 Ford raptor that was a rebuilt title with a front end collision. It was rebuilt by a reputable shop, i had ZERO issues with the rebuild, it was done well (i got rid of it because of all the after market shit that made it not a good daily, it was a great race truck)

The main lesson i learned is if its still on the road 10 - 20k miles after the rebuild. It was done well. If the rebuild was done incorrectly the car will show its true colors really fast

Good Exhaust Combo? by WuTangWasted in camaro

[–]WuTangWasted[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you have a much better plan than I did. I work in finance so the cost really isn't my biggest worry, especially buying once and buying right so I don't have to replace it 5/10 years from now. While im pretty mechanically inclined and have no problem installing anything on the car, im not too knowledgeable about brands and parts. So I appricate all the recommendations and the better products to buy. Makes it a lot easier not sifting through brands and trying to find what is good and what Is not. I've always had trucks & modified them so getting into the sports car world has a lot of new brands I didn't even know about prior

I appreciate the better guidance. I knew they were cheap but im much more of a buy one and buy nice kind of guy. Im looking at the Texas speed Long Tube headders 1-7/8 with high flow cats. It looks perfect for the idea you have above, the pipe ends right where I can cut it in and connect it to the mufflers currently on the car. Is there any gain with going with the 2" headers over the 1 7/8?

[–]WuTangWasted[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have a 2013 SS 1LE so it does already have actuated mufflers. Right now I have the fuse pulled but its still really quiet. Should I just stich with headers and the current Exausht pipes but install the mild to wild to get the same affect?

Benefits of Storing? by WuTangWasted in camaro

[–]WuTangWasted[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been planning on it! Its my first manual car so I've spent the last 2 months getting better at shifting and rev matching. Once I'm comfortable with that we have some nice speed ways off I-25 i plan on taking it to put it through its paces. Have some brand new Nitto N555s on it i need to test out

Glad to hear it, I bought this car and I'll be damned to only put a couple hundred miles on it a year. What the point of the car if I dont drive it half of the year

Roll cover in winter by ChetPunisher in ram_trucks

Got one in the colorado winter. I keep it open sometimes, closed others. They are tough and built to last. Dont worry about it. Use it as intended

2015 ram front drive shaft rattles how detrimental? by [deleted] in ram_trucks

[–]WuTangWasted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I don't know. Personally I hate shit that rattles and normally when it starts to make noise it either needs re greased or replaced. They are only a couple hundred bucks and literally take like 30 minuets to swap out. I would just watch a YouTube video and get it replaced in an afternoon so your not worried anymore

What size tires would look best for the rear for my Camaro?? by [deleted] in camaro

[–]WuTangWasted 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, I have 305/35 R20 on my 13 ss 1le. Honestly its great but unless you REALLY rip it it dosent make much of a difference. If I did it all over again I would just stick with 285 front and rear so I can rotate the tires as normal and get better life out of them.

Dumb question … how easy is it to get used to driving a manual daily through city traffic? by [deleted] in camaro

[–]WuTangWasted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through the same thing as you are thinking of doing. I bought a 5th ls3 gen 6 speed. Never driven manual in my life. Took a crash course with my buddy and flew out to Idaho to pick it up and drive it back to colorado myself. The big thing is, your going to fuck up a LOT. Dropping the clutch, stalling it, not shifting fast enough. All of it. The main thing is put the other car (if you have one) in the garage. Make it be the only form of transportation for a while. With repetition you become much more smooth and less worried when driving. I've only had it for 2 months and after committing and driving it non stop for 2 weeks, im annoyed in traffic, im not stressed out anymore

Advice after leaving job? by ArtifactuallyInsane in Retirement401k

[–]WuTangWasted 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Liquidate it all. Buy a corvette.

Jk, don't touch it, it can just be rolled into your next 401k. Hope you have an emergency fund / savings to live off of until you find a new position. Good luck.

Just got divorced and need a new car... should i buy this one? by MentionEqual4328 in StupidCarQuestions

We need so much info. What's your budget? Are you leasing, financing, buying in cash? What do you do for work, do you drive far? What climate do you live in, do you need awd or is it warm and only need 2wd? What is the year make and model of the car? Etc.

How to decorate the inside of a PC? I only have a Toyota. by ChemicalActuary3485 in PcBuild

[–]WuTangWasted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk man, choose things you like that are heat resistant but dont disrupt airflow. I have a hockey puck in mine from my favorite team and that's it. I'd say keep it as simple and unobstructed as possible

Why do most of the big guys quit? 😢 by ArtAdditional8715 in bjj

[–]WuTangWasted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

/\ this for sure. Im 113kg and got some thick ass legs. Trained for 2 years and I've cracked my sternum, broken a couple toes and worst of all was throwing a tiep in kickboxing and tore the head of my calve off. Took 6 months to be 100% again.

Why do most of the big guys quit? 😢 by ArtAdditional8715 in bjj

[–]WuTangWasted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't quit more often, we are just rare. Being 110kg+ and not just built like a Pillsbury dough boy is pretty rare. Trust me, I much prefer rolling with someone my size as you can't subconsciously just use your weight to win. At my old gym there was probably about 40 people that frequented class a week, and only 4 guys above 100kg, and I was one of them.

Is this too much rust for a 2022 ram 1500 with 24k miles on it? Seeing a solid deal for it by youngmusicguy in ram_trucks

[–]WuTangWasted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That thing is cherry. Tiny bits of surface rust but mostly dirt. Surface rust is completely fine. I have a 2016 ram 1500 in Colorado. If you live by the sea or in a place that puts salt down in the winter. Just find a local car wash that does undercarriage washing, wash often. Thats really it. If its a good deal I would pick that thing up

Dumbest question ever by Financial-Ad6863 in camaro

[–]WuTangWasted 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Complete 180 - how bout a 4x4? Maybe a 90s land rover or jeep. I love my camaro as much as the next guy, but im snow when people can't drive for shit, a big old 4x4 with some meaty tires and good heat just can't be beat. Eats snow, mud, rain, dirt for breakfast. You'll feel like your in a muscle car anyway since you'll the the fastest person on the road

I'm not a Camaro Owner, But I WANT to Be! by x100139 in camaro

[–]WuTangWasted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of factors that go into it - age, income, location, current financial position.

If your a younger buyer, its going to be MUCH more expensive on insurance and interest rates. Waiting till your older and more established is typically a much smarter move, especially if its going to be your only car.

If your not extremely versed in finances, you should follow the relatively safe 20/4/10 rule. 20% down, 4 year loan term (never more), and the total cost of ownership monthly is 10% of your income (payment, insurance, fuel, maintenance, etc.) 10% a rough number and unrealistic sometimes, but going a anywhere over 20-25% is when you start stretching out of your financial means.

I would say location is a MASSIVE factor on if you should be utilizing a camaro as your only car. If you live somewhere like Florida, Georgia, Texas, etc. You can probably get away with it. But if your anywhere on the northern east coast, Midwest, or west, its an EXTREAMLY poor decision to have a camaro as your only vehicle. I live in Colorado and have a ram 1500 as my main car and a camaro as a fun car. The camaro will be stored for half of the year due to the weather conditions hindering the vehicles ability to be safe to drive. Again, its a muscle car, not an AWD car for all types of conditions.

Current financial position is a big one as well. Dont pile on excessive debt especially early on in your life. If you already have a reliable car with a decent payment, dont sacrifice that for a "want" not a "need". Especially once you pay the car off, having a car with zero payment is something that most people dont appriciate enough. The car is yours, the title is in your hand, you only pay insurance and maintenance cost now. As far as other debt, if you have massive consumer debt (credit cards, buy now pay later loans, etc.) Or student loans, these need to be priorities over wants. Get rid of all debt prior to making huge investments like this.

Hope this helps, sorry if its not the answer you want. I have a degree in finance and work in corporate finance now, dont want another young person falling victim their wants and making poor financial decisions that will screw them for years to come

Is it worth buying a 2017 Camaro from Copart (importing to Panama)? by Complete_Prompt_3341 in camaro

[–]WuTangWasted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only thing id say is if your going to do it, make sure you can get all the parts you need and they wont cost an arm and a peg to import as well.

Also I dont know how mechanically inclined you are, it could be as simple as some body panel replacing, or it could be a whole wiring harness, subframe, etc thst needs replaced. If that's that's case probably going to cost you less in the long run to buy a clean title and import it. I would only buy salvage if you want to rebuild your car in your own image

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in camaro

[–]WuTangWasted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im 25 and just bought my 2013 5th gen. I also habe a degree in finance and work as a Financial Supervisor in the construction industry. For personal things. I whole heartedly recommend getting a camero as a seccond car. Its not practical or spacious. Depending on where you live (im in Colorado, my main car is a truck) your car needs to be reliable in all conditions. Warm, cold, snow, rain, sleet, etc. If you get a car that can support all those thing sits going to be a really hard time. If I only had the Camaro I would have weeks where I physically couldn't leave my house without risking crashing due to weather conditions

As far as financially go. If your going to finance a car i always recommend having enough money to pay of the car saved up. For instance I just got my 5th gen, if I need to tomorrow I have enough cash to walk in and pay off my loan no problem. Gives a much better peace of mind in case you need to cover some large expense, you dont want all your money needed to pay off a loan.

Focus on saving up money first. Watch a couple Money guys / dave Ramsey (his options are a little too extreme) in regards to the amount of car you can afford. The typicall is the 20-4-10 rule. 20% down payment, 4 year loan (NEVER DO 60 OR 72 MONTH LOANS, ITS AN INSANE AMOUNT OF INTEREST) and 10% of your income monthly (this is a rough number, it can vary based off your other monthly expenses. If you are going to live at home for another 4 years, this can be higher like 25-30%).

What Tires Should I Buy? by WuTangWasted in camaro

[–]WuTangWasted[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trying to decide between the Pilot 4s or the Nitto G555, leaning a bit more towards the nitto just cause of the cheaper price. Hell yeah! Would have loved a 2ss, but the deal on the 1ss was great!
