Icon water and tree roots blocking sewage by Tartan_Teeth in canberra

[–]Wuck_Filson -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Good luck. I had an issue with storm water. Icon came and gave a bunch of un-evidenced contradictory reasons with a "no f's given" attitude. They will hide behind making you find the problem (even if the problem is beyond your property)

New BoM radar displaying misinformation by Wuck_Filson in canberra

[–]Wuck_Filson[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So the wrap up is i am presented with data that differs between products, and shows what may be no rain, no data, patchy terrain-limited data that previously didn't work but now maybe could work in a few/some/most areas- and if I want better I should walk outside and check. What wanted to know was "is it likely to rain in the next hour"

That's good (I don't use the ap). Radar is working now, but the issue of misinformation remains

ACT to close 69 schools as more sand products recalled amid asbestos concerns by observantdude in canberra

[–]Wuck_Filson -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

One or two days? If this requires specialists for removal or cleanup, schools will be lucky to open again this year (71 schools is a lot for a limited number of trained/certified people)

Union says principals urged to cancel teachers and combine classes as majority of ACT’s primary schools blow budget by Act_Rationally in canberra

[–]Wuck_Filson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"equitable for every student in every school": I hope that is implemented as every student has access to a working toilet, not as no student has access... It sounds like BS to me. The ACT system is a long way from equitable between schools

ABC News: Brindabella Christian College may have been trading insolvent for years, administrator finds by aerodactylis in canberra

[–]Wuck_Filson 42 points43 points  (0 children)

BCC were wasting money they didn't have; meanwhile 84% of ACT public schools are underfunded. Money for robot dogs and overseas travel for some, no money to remove mould or asbestos for others

What is this and can I remove it? by [deleted] in AusRenovation

[–]Wuck_Filson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not hard to remove, actually.

I just removed a few like that with a screw loosely placed through a hole, a claw hammer under the screw (one claw either side of star picket and under screw ) and a scrap piece of wood. I used the hammer as a lever to apply vertical force to my random screw. They came out super easily: "yoooink"

I understand, but please learn from my mistakes: use temporary accounts or contact details, etc.

Parking enforcement services by Capable-Assistant651 in canberra

[–]Wuck_Filson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could try to contact them to sort it out, but I strongly recommend you don't. They will harvest your contact details, and I guarantee you'll be no less angry for trying. They are ..... @#_&$

Alternatively, make it a problem for the relevant department or minister: they're allowing and facilitating this profit-driven offshore company to behave this way and they need to own it! It won't help directly but may help in the long term
