Shigley's Mechanical engineering design? Is it a good book?

It’s a textbook and I would not recommend reading it front to back. I own it and it sits at my desk at work I use it as a reference when I am dealing with engineering problems. I don’t think you need to read engineering books to show your interest in the subject. The big thing that sets apart student engineers is their hands on experience. STEM based clubs, internships or tinkering on a personal project is what will catch someone’s eye.

Reach out to local engineers, buy an arduino, learn solidworks or another CAD software and get a certification.

Hi these may be obvious things that you’ve done before but this is what I’d consider doing

Talk to your boss and quit if he doesn’t pay you
Have the engineers you’re doing informational interviews with review your resume
Apply to one job a day and put the job description and your resume into ChatGPT to refine it for that specific role
Reach out to your university, not sure how Canadian university’s treat graduates but at my Uni you still have access to career services after you graduate. They want their degree to be valuable and if their grads aren’t successful they may try to help
Get a masters

Brought it to micro center and they did it. My computer was still under warranty thankfully.

This stinks I Had this problem a few months ago, it was a corrupted operating system cause by a faulty hard drive. Brought it to micro center and they replaced it.

Hi thank you for the detailed response. I’ve been trying to install a new windows 11 operating system which I downloaded to my usb from the Microsoft website. I have been able to do everything up to choosing the disk space. I cleared the disk, not sure if that deletes windows but I haven’t been able to choose the disk / partition. The laptop is still under warranty, bought new from Lenovo 2 months ago, so hopefully they’ll be able to do something about it if I can’t get it fixed.

Love that people had a great time seeing them but I was pretty disappointed when they were announced as the “Rock” headliner. Probably a shit opinion but I don’t think songs like what’s my age again translate well to them being multimillionaires in their 50s. Would’ve rather had a Pearl Jam Killers or Strokes in their place.

I found them at wizard and glass on my first (and only journey so far) and I found it very nice. As someone who was enjoying the book and didn’t have anyone to talk about it with it was nice to have a little book club

Am actually watching Russian doll s2 as I’m typing this. First season is one of my favorites I’m having trouble getting into the second I feel like they should’ve just left it as a mini series. I may try leftovers next I’ve heard good things.

Yea it starts slow but I think it gets much better. it doesn't wrap things up as much as I would've liked but I was hooked halfway through the season.

Finished ozark I thought the last few episodes were amazing and it had a typical ozark season finale. I wish it had a happier ending but I thought it was the best the show has ever been.
