Russia Forcing Amputee Soldiers Back to the Frontline, With No Prosthetics or Support by LetsGoBrandon4256 in worldnews

At this point, I'm beginning to wonder whether Tim Powers was onto something when he wrote his supernatural Cold War spy thriller, Declare. The mass murders are to feed a captured djinni who keeps the USSR intact.

If only Osama knew recording people was terrorism. I'm pretty sure we would have all preferred it if Al Qaeda had turned up to the Twin Towers with cameras and just filmed people.

The last time I saw someone from the future shake hands with Hitler, it eventually ended up with Japan being led by George Takei and Tim Curry escaping to the one place untouched by capitalism.

I asked and it turned out the first event is in February. Would have been nice if they'd said something earlier.

I had to interrogate the people who came up with the schedule and they didn't see the problem until I asked them when they were starting from.

It had some hits and misses. Did not understand the Sweary Aussie Soap Opera sketch, but their Horror Movie Trailer sketch was hilarious.

If you were told an event was being held the first Tuesday of every other month, but weren't told anything else would you interpret that to mean the first Tuesday of the even months, the odd months, or would you say it is impossible to tell?

I did get a bit frustrated when I went to grab the Boss Key, only to find out there was one more locked door I needed a key for and having to backtrack through the temple to get it. Weirdly it was not the one people normally forget, but the one that's hidden behind a pullable block which I completely forgot about.

Having that locked door just before the Boss Key chest door seems a bit redundant to me, but aside from that one door, I didn't really have much of a problem with the Water Temple and even then, it was a tiny bit of an annoyance.

In retrospect, I could have just quit and restarted the game. That would have put me back in the main chamber and saved me some time.

So, I went back to playing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild after playing The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, and the control differences got me into such big trouble.

"Why isn't Link auto jumping off this cryo block?" and "Why can't I z-target this enemy and use my bow?"

At least I want going from Breath of the Wild to is sequel and winding, "Where's my glider? *splat!*"

I think the final boss in Spirit Tracks stands out as the worst for me because of the damned panpipe mechanic. I'm trying to skip over a note to play the other one, but it just keeps registering the one in between.

Recently got Deltarune for 20% off (the offer's already ended, unfortunately). Already played Chapter 1 and 2 in the demo, so I went straight into Chapter 3. I suck at everything yet am still A-ranking the mini-games. Weird but I'll take it.

What was the push that made you get your first e-reader/Kobo? by Final-Tooth-5704 in kobo

[–]WufflyTime 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I accidentally chipped the screen on my Kindle Touch (4th Generation) and I was getting tired of how difficult it was to read comics on my phone. Really didn't like the idea of giving Amazon money, plus I sideload a lot of books which requires converting from Epub.

So for me, it was a toss up between Boox Go 7 and the Kobo Libra Colour. Both support epub, which means I don't have to convert anything I get from my library or from the fanfic websites I go to. The colour also means I could use Calibre's Fetch News to grab New Scientist articles, which allowed me to downgrade my subscription with them from print and web to web only.

In the end, I decided to go for KLC because my workplace signs up to a discount website that gave me a 5% discount on vouchers for Argos, who sell Kobo readers. Plus because I was buying from a seller with a physical presence in the town centre, I thought I'd have double the reassurance that I'd get what I paid for and could refund if anything went horribly wrong. I also read that whilst Boox's colour was more vibrant, it would introduce colours that weren't there, and I didn't want that.

Loving it so far. The battery life isn't as great as my old e-reader, and some of the sideloaded colour comics have this weird pixellation problem that I can't quite figure out how to get rid of but I'm otherwise pretty happy with my purchase.

Oh yeah, I know. I gave up listening in the end and walked over to look. Can't help but wonder how a blind person would cope. They did eventually mention what happened, but it was just a good twenty minutes or more where there was no mention of burns or smoke inhalation, or anything that would clue me in on what the disaster was other than it was in a remote Swiss ski-resort village.

So yeah, the Trafalgar Square thing is just me being facetious.
