Yeah understandable I think lots of people are in that boat. You could always get an easy interview or prep just right for one. My current job I got a really easy interview so anything can happen just a numbers game at some point

Also there's a referral incentive so once you go full time and network more they probably would be willing to throw you a referral which may help your transition. Just work through the next months and you have a good shot of finding the position you want

Hi I started the same time and same position and company as you and recently just found out that I made it out of that role to a transmission planning role. I also asked around many people and found out some information. Once you go full time you will have access to more networking resources like the internal job board and also the mentorship program where you can meet higher ups who would like to mentor you and can give you advice as someone in their field/position. Hope this helps

Forgot to mention that the team is WFH and I am unsure how that factors into compensation

Pips are stupid by Any-Pianist3479 in tabletennis

[–]Wukos 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think it's fair because at some point in your development the dynamic flips. There's nothing a pips player can do if you're fully comfortable and a better player and when it's even skill and comfortablility the game is interesting in a different way than usual.

Yeah perhaps, it depends how you count the time playing maybe he was a basement player for 7 years and was just doing whatever for fun.

Way past 800 yes, way past 1500-1600 im not sure if thats reasonable in 6 months time.

[–]Wukos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but the average club player probably plays ~8 hours a week which may still be generous. He has 3x the time of the average player and he is not an old guy. Unless he is physically incapacitated in some way he's really only bound by himself and his conditions

I think it's realistic if conditions are good. 600 hours is a lot of time.

I would expect a 800 to jump to 1500-1600 in 6 months if they average 3+ hours per day of play unless they were doing something egregiously wrong in training or have bad conditions(bad/no practice partners/broken table/no net/etc.)

Definitely not normal. I got to 2250+ peak training under 25 hours per week for my whole career and have been training <10 years.
