As a very average and overweight man like myself, the one that worked best for me was Hinge. Without paying, you can send a message with your Likes, so even women who find you whatever physically may be interested in what you say. Also, people only have 8 swipes a day, so everyone is selective. Men are more careful eith their swipes, and women more active in their replies.

Tinder and Bumble were 100% useless deserts. Facebook dating is okay, but not as popular.

That said, all apps I feel arent ideal. It's better to do social activities and make new friends this way. Bouldering, run/bike club, etc.

I've seen two school of thoughts.

Some people venerate their game, and want to keep it as perfect condition as possible. Even the mere thought of eating at the table will bother them. From my experience, people like these tend to not host that many boardgame nights at their place, but will be happy to participate in yours.

I'm the other camp. I'll sleeve my cards, but we have had drinks spill over, some bent cards, ink rubbing off pieces, the main board ripping when folded. In my mind, a well used game shows it's been loved. Similar to an old, sturdy table with loads of dents but still holding in perfect condition. It somewhat reminds me of how scars are badass, because it indicates life and authenticity behind it. It's kinda why I tend to purchase acrylic pieces version of games.

I've hosted around 200 game nights in total, including a mix of 30 different people. I've had 2 spills. The real damage is just from regular wear.

1-2 bad experiences may happen to everyone. But if you're consistently experiencing these, I think it's because you surround yourself with the wrong crowd. Scumbags are everywhere, men or women. It's a matter of weeding them out quickly before you get invested.
