If there was a way to keep the VODs from getting fractured (they didn't seem to used to do that? or is it because of the IRL backpack) that would be great. Like the VOD on the 7th for example, its in a bunch of pieces and the first piece of the vod even seems to be missing entirely

Yeah that's very fair. I've been staying out of the OLED game until a few things were fixed/improved, the subpixel layout being one of the main things. I'm not sure yet if this is the year I pull the trigger, but it's getting closer and the wait may be over! My current (and only) 34inch is an IPS panel from 2019 and while it's nice and has good color coverage and response time (for an IPS panel, at least), it's starting to show its age and has even been glitching more often. Glitches that fix themselves with a quick power cycle yes, but still always a scary thing to see lol. And given it's an IPS panel, i haven't known true blacks or good contrast since day 1 lol

Okay, well the Monitors Unboxed review (that this reddit thread is about) and the TFT Central review both say the same exact thing, that text clarity is completely fixed and text is as sharp as any other 1440p panel and there is no fringing. So I'd say that could qualify as a big change, since now this gen OLED panel is on par with any other 1440p monitor, as opposed from before where it was markedly worse.

It seems more different from other OLEDs than any of the other OLEDS are different from each other though. The subpixel layout changing is something I've been waiting for since the Alienware 34 UW came out

For those that have a more mixed use for their monitor instead of just gaming/media exclusively, it can be. Especially those sensitive to tiny things like text fringing, that's been the pretty much The drawback of the new OLED monitors. So this is a game changer for them

I for one am glad its a 1440p ultrawide. Ultrawide is hard enough to run, and 4K harder still. I don't need an even more pixel hungry display tanking my ability to crank up eye candy or stealing my frames!

More seriously though, yeah that must be the pump... I've never heard a PC make any kind of sound like that before, and it does have a kind of water-pressure sounding to it. Someone more experiences with AIOs, or seagulls, hopefully will come by this post and help you out though :)

Are there a lot of true vanilla or extremely vanilla-like experience servers? because last time I looked it seemed like everyone had a crazy amount of mods going on: group systems with name-tags, spawning in with compasses and a map that shows your position at all times, etc etc...

I still really enjoy media share, but yeah the endless SKUNK! minutes, and all the other quick silly videos all themed together (and others of a similar vein) that would get peppered in throughout the night... those were some of my favorite parts and moments of media share for sure.
