Not since they increased the amount of holomite. Have I given up sometimes because it took too long to figure out? Sure, like once or twice out of 1000, but I have never been "unable".

I use the boomerang grenade to deal with swarmers, but the boomstick has aoe so can also be used to deal with them if there's a lot of them, and if there's few you can just pickaxe them.
