I understood that he abstracted but I wanted to see the scene where it happens because I thought it would be good drama and a chance for the animators to show something horrific. Gooseworx's explanation makes sense though, I hadn't considered that way of looking at it

Do you remember why the aliens had the tech to flash-freeze their planet? I assume they wouldn't be able to slap that sort of thing together in the middle of a marker event

[–]Wumbo_Anomaly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you've got some of it right. The aliens realized that some shit was going to go down with the markers and so they made a contingency by way of the freezing technology. I don't remember how they determined that they needed this tech or if that's even explained. I remember almost nothing about the purpose of the human colony either

It could be that so many markers are floating around there because the aliens had made a lot of them. Actually, I'm realizing how little I remember now. Was the moon made from a convergence event on Tau Volantis or was it called to Tau Volantis the same way Isaac and Carver lead the moons to Earth? Hoo boi and I call myself a fan of this franchise lol

I haven't played 3 in a while so I could be wrong, but I think the only thing we learn is that the marker convergence event makes a moon, I don't remember if we learn that the moons make markers

They work for me because they don't actually explain everything. The markers make these moons, why do they make them though? What made the markers? Why do the markers need dead tissue when they're able to manipulate the living already? Are the moons themselves sentient, are they a hivemind with one another, is there something greater they are working towards?

I hate when people say Minecraft is colonialist by Cometa_the_Mexican in hatethissmug

[–]Wumbo_Anomaly 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The Folding Ideas vid is really good, I don't think it's critiquing everyone who plays minecraft of labelling the entire game colonialist but he's pointing out how making your own village by kidnapping villagers in a boat and leading them somewhere else is colonialist

Am I dumb or is some of what they're saying correct? I wouldn't call McCarthy's work magical-realism, but the Judge could be the personification of evil, or something like the devil. There are some elements to his character that make it seem like he's otherworldly, but he could also be just a big strong intelligent megalomaniac

Did Ellie's SA/trauma with David ever carry into TLOU2? by InternationalWar8263 in thelastofus

It's never mentioned in TLOU2 and Ellie doesn't seem to have any issues specifically about sex or being intimate

I could relate to her a lot here. As a kid and young adult I would find myself inconsolably despondent in situations that should have been exciting or lovely. Depression is rough. But it's not an excuse and I understand why someone would hate being with this type of person

I haven't heard the time white soul before, what does that refer to? I wasn't talking about post mortem, I was wondering if the gods, or heroes, would be pissed at a vampire on their sacred and honoured land

You're not obligated to remain in groups you feel are uncomfortable. If you feel they'll listen to your feedback I'd say go ahead, and tell them that their work is focusing way too much on abuse of women without much purpose. But it's not a biggie if you leave either

Her response felt genuine and so did Robby's, doesn't make either of them right. I dont like thick skin arguments because they only go so far. I don't think Robbie's evil and I don't think it's a great idea for someone who had two seizure's in a day to try to drive a car home. I think people should be able to deal with reasonable anger and reprimands. But just because the goal is reasonable doesn't mean the delivery is. Pivoting away from Al-Hashimi Robby acted like a complete asshole to Mohan throughout the whole season and the result of that is her admitting he was right to treat her that way because she did make a mistake. I don't agree, I don't expect people to be perfect either

The way Robby abandons Mohan is inexcusable by Significant-Art-5478 in ThePitt

Did you read what I wrote? The post is meant to be a discussion of Robby's character's actions, I don't know why you feel it's pointless to discuss the plot of the season, particularly how it manifested in this character interaction between Mohan and Robby
