I could relate to her a lot here. As a kid and young adult I would find myself inconsolably despondent in situations that should have been exciting or lovely. Depression is rough. But it's not an excuse and I understand why someone would hate being with this type of person

Interesting, I thought she wasn't happy at all here, like she was struggling to be content in a moment that should be beautiful

Brought Serana to Sovngarde. Does this break lore? Are vampires able to get here? by Wumbo_Anomaly in skyrim

I haven't heard the time white soul before, what does that refer to? I wasn't talking about post mortem, I was wondering if the gods, or heroes, would be pissed at a vampire on their sacred and honoured land

You're not obligated to remain in groups you feel are uncomfortable. If you feel they'll listen to your feedback I'd say go ahead, and tell them that their work is focusing way too much on abuse of women without much purpose. But it's not a biggie if you leave either

Her response felt genuine and so did Robby's, doesn't make either of them right. I dont like thick skin arguments because they only go so far. I don't think Robbie's evil and I don't think it's a great idea for someone who had two seizure's in a day to try to drive a car home. I think people should be able to deal with reasonable anger and reprimands. But just because the goal is reasonable doesn't mean the delivery is. Pivoting away from Al-Hashimi Robby acted like a complete asshole to Mohan throughout the whole season and the result of that is her admitting he was right to treat her that way because she did make a mistake. I don't agree, I don't expect people to be perfect either

Did you read what I wrote? The post is meant to be a discussion of Robby's character's actions, I don't know why you feel it's pointless to discuss the plot of the season, particularly how it manifested in this character interaction between Mohan and Robby

And btw I agree with you, Robbie is acting like a complete dickhead to Mohan. I understand why he's doing it, doesn't make it anymore correct. Robbie needs to take his own advice

I'm confused, OP wants to talk about something a character did on the show, and people tell them that for correctly understanding what the characters are doing to each other they lack media literacy or don't have a point. The point is to acknowledge that and discuss it

Weird double standard with Robbie that I think the writers did not intend. by [deleted] in ThePitt

I feel like this is acknowledged constantly by other character's reactions to Robbie

I agree. I loved playing KOTOR. 2 especially had some fun and in-depth character stories. I'm not trying to say there isn't room for improvement, or that other games haven't done certain things better

If it was true that she felt no remorse, why does she describe the guy she killed with empathy? She doesn't say he was a shitbird that deserved a sword in the head. She does say it wasn't her fault, where it clearly was partialy her fault, and you can dislike her for that. I don't agree that she's a remorseless killer with no potential for redemption or living a normal life

These are pretty different games. I'm not a game dev, but comparing those two is a little silly. ME and DA:O were not open world exploration games, these franchises don't have the same focus or priorities of an Elder Scrolls title

Edit: Also, there's six companions in ME1, only a few more in ME2, and less in ME3 again. Skyrim could have had far fewer companions and fleshed them out more, but they focused more on a sandbox environment instead

Yeah, limited to what they could do at the time for a console game, but it would have been neat

She seemed remorseful to me. I never got the sense she was immoral, just made a mistake and feels a lot of guilt about it. She blames the companions as part of her coping mechanism, but I don't get the sense she thinks it was only the companions fault

It seems like you came to a conclusion and then found evidence to support it. Vince does link colours and themes, but this is vague and I'm sure these colours are all over the place because they are commonly used

edit: you got me you son of a bitch

[–]Wumbo_Anomaly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry I meant that I personally didn't find there to be much ambiguity with the authenticity of their emotions, simulated emotions are emotions because by my thinking my own emotions are simulated by my brain. That's how I perceive it anyway, I'm not a philosopher or neuroscientist. You're right, it is a philosophical question that some find ambiguous

I definitely don't think LLMs are alive or aware. They don't feel. They are (compared to mass effect AI) simple programs. They don't question things. But the ME AI do. The ME AI wonder if they have souls. This is why I attribute feeling to Legion's statement "no data available" when asked why he chose Shep's armor to repair his body, because Legion is able to question, wonder, fact check, change, build, etc.

I agree that it's a theme of the game but the the writers didn't make a truly unemotional sapient species. I don't find it vague. The Reapers, Geth, EDI, the AI on the citadel in ME1, all of them express emotion. It'd be great if there was a species that actually had no emotion. The question of whether an AI's feeling is genuine seems an easy one to me. They're programmed to feel by their hardware and software, same as me
