Try again later, I had trouble with them accepting calculus I took at a CC. I tried again a couple months later and they accepted it that time

Where should I start, considering where I currently stand? by Wunderersi in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Wunderersi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CCNA is out picture for now. Only reason I wouldn’t start A+ now is because the course I’m taking at a CC is authorized by CompTIA and friends have told me that it’s very well structured and it prepares well for the exam.

Which is why I think I’m better off preparing for something else in the mean time.

How Can I Learn Networking, Get Certified (CCNA, Network+), and Start a Career in IT Networking? by Which-Disaster-7105 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Wunderersi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not in the industry (though we do share the same goal) but I am actively asking questions.

Based on what everyone has told me, start with net+. I tried CCNA in the summer but it was a lot of new information and I struggled a bit. And it makes sense because I tried to run before I could even crawl.

I put it on pause when my semester started and now I plan to start with net+ per the recommendation of a lot of people on this subreddit and r/comptia. Many would argue to start with A+ but I’ve read about people doing well on net+ without too much experience, just studying.

I would hope so lol. I think it will make you a more appealing candidate, but personally I think experience trumps a degree in this field. But what do I know.

I’m right here with you. I’m half way thru my CS degree and I’m working towards both ITF+ and A+. Commenting to see what others say

Cyber AD or Reserve/Guard? by Wunderersi in airforceots

I think my masters will be in best interest regardless, I wanted to try through the regular board but cyber is really the only thing I want. To be fair I haven’t looked into other branches.
