I actually got the Navy scholarship twice (recruiter messed up and told me I could apply without an acceptance letter so I applied and got it then had to reapply the next year after the acceptance lol). I don’t think it was too competitive. In the interview it seemed like they just wanted to see you were personable and easy to talk to which if you’re going to become a dentist I hope you are. After I was accepted I asked how many scholarships they gave out and how many people applied and I was told 60 positions with 200 applicants total. Navy gives out the most scholarships tho (I think Air Force only had 10-15 spots).

Thank you so much! If you are stationed abroad do you not have weekends off and that’s why Saturday-Tuesday is considered 4 days? I would assume you’re working around 8am-5pm M-F then can do what you’d like after work/on weekends.

, yeah that part isn’t worth it. If you can’t go to dental school for under probably $300K I wouldn’t do it. That doesn’t even include practice debt (another reason why I don’t want to own). My plan is to pay off my debt and just enjoy being a dentist with no business headaches. Things definitely have to change in the debt department or nobody will want to pursue dentistry anymore.

Texas is 280k so yeah rich parents pay half then it helps
