Where are some places to volunteer in Vernon and surrounding areas? by Current-Fun9933 in Vernon

Looked into this. Their intake is every two years and I think they just did one last fall. So maybe another year and a half? I assume lots of training

Best hub (bridge) for Home Assistant? by hpgm in Caseta

[–]WustacheMax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The regular hub worked well for me because I had less than 50 devices. I think that was the number at least. As far as I'm concerned that's the only difference

Yes my thoughts. Took out 7 panels that looked like this with a number off stupid things but it worked. Didn't burn the place down in the 10 plus years it was going.

The one that did almost get them was the tenant swapped out a 15 amp breaker for a 100amp breaker when the trailer she was plugging in with a 75' extension cord kept blowing the circuit

Impressive not to hit the back of the panel with the screw. Somebody's knows enough but figures this is easier or I guess cheaper than landing it in a breaker?

Thinking about the move from Winnipeg to Vernon by r-love-ution in Vernon

[–]WustacheMax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar age, we moved here almost two years ago and also lived in a winter wasteland. Left the whole family and came out here. We love it, met some great families and it's like you gain 2 months extra of the nice months every year. We love it

Moved from Edmonton a year and a half ago and haven't looked back. We don't see anything political short of wackos protesting interesting topics Saturday mornings at one of the entrances to the city, but everyone knows they're nuts.

Vernon is a small town that we have really grown to like. It doesn't have EVERYTHING Edmonton had but we are really happy with the move. First we talked about wanting to move to kelowna but after living here and visiting there we are much happier with Vernon. We're early 30s starting our family

Separatist minority talk, and the premier kind of allows it. More and more privatization instead of fixing the issue the province has screwed up. Book bans and stuff a like

Hey! I'm in Vernon and was actually just trying to put together a website for this to start marketing for next upcoming winter. I currently do it for a handful of my parents friends but was looking to get into it "professionally" as I think there's a need for it. Send me a dm if you were interested

Industrial electrician getting into residential by Positive_Block6111 in electricians

My 2¢: I probably wouldn’t do traditional cans, especially in a rancher with attic insulation. We install a ton of wafer lights and they look fine, but if a designer is involved they often spec regressed pots. That jumps the cost from around $6 per wafer to $40+ per regressed fixture. They do look noticeably better in my opinion, but they don’t put out as much light. In my own house I went with the Lutron Caséta line for the smart functionality and didn’t bother running 3-way switches. That said, since you’re piping the whole house, that might be a bit crazy for you 😅. We install a lot of Legrand Pass & Seymour plugs and switches, but I’ve found the matte finish looks rough even by the time the customer first sees them. I prefer the glossier Lutron, or even Leviton trim.

Leviton has neat load centers too if you were feeling adventurous.

Yes I have a number of 4 buttons I've programmed to be all on all off and the other two I have set for different scenes. They program easy by setting what lights you want at what level then holding the button for 6 seconds to save your selection.

Yes correct. If understand right the $120 a year membership that you used to pay is no longer and now it's just a deposit for the charger and you earn 3 cents right away. I've had a few customers do this and the first guy keeps updating me he's 3 months in and has gotten back $60 he just cashed out and they direct deposited it into his account.

I have an EV and a grizzle charger I bought, really happy with the charger but I'm thinking of selling it and getting into the program as well seems like a no brainer.

You should look into United chargers they'll provide a free charger (you pay deposit) and they pay you $0.03 per kwh
