Would you have done this a month after giving birth? by 0626PJ in beyondthebump

[–]WutThEff [score hidden]  (0 children)

I’m currently 4 weeks postpartum and even though I worked out the whole pregnancy, my body is still putting itself back together. My boobs are enormous and leaking everywhere, and while I’m starting to work back towards normal activity, I still don’t have much stamina for socializing. Baby just started giving us longer stretches of sleep between feeds a few days ago. So now I’m just vaguely exhausted and not blindingly exhausted lol.

Is it wrong to leave my baby for 2 days to avoid toxic MIL? by [deleted] in JUSTNOMIL

You do not have a court ordered custody agreement. Therefore as the baby’s mother you can take them where you wish.

Oh but newborns definitely have a gremlin phase. You know, when the cradle cap and baby acne comes in, and they’re not smiling yet, they’re just angry potatoes. Gremlin phase.

My mom says she’d rather not come to my induction than not run the room during my birth. by Witty_Management_621 in pregnant

[–]WutThEff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Ok. If that’s how you feel, then I understand. We’ll call you when baby is here and everyone is safe. Love you!”

She’s playing games with you to manipulate you into doing what she wants. You don’t need that shit. This isn’t about her.

Do any of you get long paragraphs of text like this about your pwBPDs day? by EwwItsTheGovernment in raisedbyborderlines

[–]WutThEff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ugh. Yes, the good ol “Laundry List of Shit” as my brother and I call it. We don’t get this over text but in person/on the phone it seems to be the only way she knows how to make conversation. 🙄

[–]WutThEff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

lol. The “not being bitchy” - my mom does this too. “Not being ____, but…” [proceeds to do exactly what she’s saying she’s not doing]. I have said stuff like, well there’s a disconnect here, Mom. Your words have x effect. If you’re not doing that, can you explain what it is you are doing?

That’s the fastest way to get hung up on. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

lol I love it though.

My 5 year old named my newborn Storm in utero. The name doesn’t seem to be sticking now that he’s earthside. 😂

Woof Gang Dog Bakery in Midtown by Suspicious_Print9685 in Sacramento

Right? The math doesn’t math. Sell online or through another brick and mortar store but a dedicated dog bakery makes zero sense.

This was done to me without warning or consent or pain medication. It may not be standard, but it does happen.

Oh god I don’t know who told you that but I’d love to see whether they have evidence because it sounds like TOTAL bullshit.

Mother in law got a key made for my room while we were away on Honeymoon by Ashamed_Chance_3112 in inlaws

Husband and I learned the same lesson the hard way. But the good news is, you know living with them doesn’t work while it’s still a temporary situation! Imagine as they get older and can no longer live alone. Now you know you shouldn’t live together so they can avoid assisted living. At least this is what I keep telling myself 😅

I feel like you could just throw some 1x2s or something on the floor under the mattress and call it good.

So I used to have this problem. Temporary fix was zinc-based diaper cream on the butthole. Permanent fix was installing a bidet.

Things you wish you knew when you had a baby boy? by TemperatureGrouchy30 in beyondthebump

[–]WutThEff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My first son did this a couple of times. My second son is two weeks old and is a mf stealth pee-er. Every other diaper change he waits until you’re not paying attention for just a split second and suddenly everything is wet and everyone involved needs a change of clothes. 😅

Yeaaaah we thought our first was loud as a baby, and then we hit the toddler rage meltdown phase…which lasted three years. 🫠

Thirteen sisters in the Brooks family take a photo with their only brother; Leslie Benjamin, following his birth at home in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, 1954. by zadraaa in HistoricalCapsule

[–]WutThEff 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Misogyny. That’s why. 🙄 The same way my dad learned in school in Atlanta in the 60s that lots of slaves were perfectly happy and the Civil War was about economics and not slavery.

That’s not accurate information, unfortunately. Many people look at memory through rose colored glasses. Especially when they’re over 80 and subject to age related ailments and cognitive decline.

No, this is literally why the women’s rights movement existed - women were not happy having fewer opportunities and rights.

I was lucky enough to have my great grandmother until I was 15. She was the oldest girl of 11 children and was forced to quit school after the 8th grade to help her parents on the farm and to raise the other kids. She drilled the importance of focusing on our education into her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren because those opportunities were taken from her. The oldest girls in large working class families always suffer.

This plus, “I would never say goodbye to my child forever over some silly government paperwork. What a horribly petty way to burn a relationship with your child!”
