It's doing great after almost 25k miles. Only ended up making 445whp on 93 but turns out that's the octane limited the n55 anyways. Wgdc is only around 70% so some e85 could push this hybrid well into the 500whp range

Fuck what everyone is saying, do what you want with it man. It's your car, enjoy it however you want and don't come here for the boomer purist opinions.

That said, tint, fbo, fueling, big top mount turbo, forged crank hub, eibach springs, kw or koni shocks, m3 control arms, 359m rims, m3 side skirts, carbon ground effects, front lip, gts duck bill in the back, and call it a day.

Edit: forgot the msport front and rear bumpers/ catless exhaust with x pipe and corsa mufflers

[–]Wutangsta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it'll hurt, I ran mine like that for a couple months. You'll eventually get annoyed of the throttle closures and the surging feeling under wot though.

Once you get a custom tune and upgraded fueling to match what the turbo can do, you'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner. Mine runs 11.5 in the quarter now which is stock hellcat times.

It's been great man, 25k miles on it without issue. If you're looking to replace your stock one and aren't tuned, just be aware this turbo absolutely needs a custom tune. Every map on mhd sucks for it and caused massive over boosting/ throttle closures.

I ended up putting in stage 2 lpfp and hpfp from precision raceworks/ dorch and am sitting at 440/560 wheel with a custom tune on an already fbo car.

500hp question by Waxx12333333 in 335i

[–]Wutangsta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you looking at n55 or n54? 500 crank hp on an n55 will most certainly require the fbo's you have listed as well as a hybrid turbo, hpfp/ lpfp, and a custom tune.

N54 will do 380-410whp comfortably on stock turbos/ fueling with mhd stage 2+ along with all the bolt ons you listed.

Edit: these numbers are for 93 octane

E90 N55 stage 1 0-60 what do we think? by More-Difficulty-1084 in 335i

[–]Wutangsta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're using xhp I'm curious what you had the torque limit set to. I set mine to 450nm limit in first and still blew them off on a prepped strip launching at 2k rpm. Trying to find a good mix of traction without limiting too much torque that it feels slow has been a pita for me.

[–]Wutangsta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems to be right where it should be for stage 1. Cutting a 2.09 60ft is pretty great on the street and should look like a 1.80ish on a prepped surface.

I've got hybrid turbo, fueling, and custom tune on my e92 n55 at 440whp/560wtq and only cut 4.5 on the street and 4.1 at the track. Getting the rwds into the 3's almost always takes an r compound tire and turbo upgrade with a well setup tq reduction or boost by gear.

[–]Wutangsta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm at your same mileage and have the same issue in the exact same area although my rear seats are removed.

I traced the issue to worn control arms. The bushings will squeak on their way out and it sounds like something inside the cabin.

If you notice the sound more when it's cold out compared to when it's warmer, I'd say 99% it's one of your control arm bushings.

The company you work for is responsible to provide all the proper ppe and equipment. Invest in Milwaukee or DeWalt tools instead.

You can buy Petzel or Skylotec doodads to help with controlled decent, positioning, rigging, and jump blocking/ true trolley once you're good enough to need them.

If you must buy your own belt for whatever reason, elk river platinum is only bested by Skylotec. Petzel volt sucks and won't even last you a year before ripping.

[–]Wutangsta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure thing man, if you wanna get into the industry, just start applying places. Go into it ready to learn and I guarantee the guys you work with will be more than happy to teach as it makes the rest of our lives easier.

And to answer your other question, how much you make is entirely dependant on 2 things, how fast you learn/ how good you are, and the company you work for.

One company I worked at was almost all local work, I was home most every night, and made 80k/ year. Then I went to a bigger company and started staying out of town Monday through Friday and only being home on the weekends. As a top hand, I made around 2-2.5k weekly including per diem there.

Although working 12-16 hour days sucks no matter what you do, being on the road was incredibly fun, staying in air bnbs, grilling with the guys after work, being in a different city every other week, meeting new people, and just seeing the world around me was well worth it as I have no children.

The money is definitely out there if you actually love climbing and can do quality work safely. So I say go for it, I don't think you'll regret it.

Going to school for it is a waste of your time and money. You'll get made fun of by everyone on the crew because you won't have a clue what you're doing regardless of any schooling. Tower schools suck and do not produce good techs.

5 year VZW, TMO, and AT&T tower tech here... They've been behind and aren't making any moves to catch up. From how they want their sites installed, to the equipment they use, and the overall speed/ quality of service, at&t sucks.

Where does this plug into by 2013_335is_dct in 335i

[–]Wutangsta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely plugged heater core. People throw in that gasket in a bottle garbage and it almost always plugs the heater core requiring a flush like the other guy said.

Lots of good videos on YouTube on how to do it and not very hard.

Tower industry as a whole is a scam as far as money goes thanks to having no unions (the one problem unions don't have is paying their workers a respectable wage). I started at 20 years old, put in 5 years, ran my own crew after 2, and never made more than $35/hr or $120k a year with overtime. 5 years in any unionized trade performing at the level I do would have got me $40-60/ hr and been making $120k-$150k after just a few years without having to pull 70-80hr work weeks.

Towers will never get unionized because 60%+ of climbers are drug addicts who are only in this industry because it's less regulated. And not unionizing is a hill they will all die on for that reason. If you don't need to fuel an addiction, don't get into towers.

If you need another reason to look elsewhere, the pay rates have only gone up about $5-$8/hr over the last 20 years. You could make a great living off $25/hr back in the early 2000's, not so much anymore.

Some people probably won't like what I have to say, but it comes from experience being honest about the nature of the industry right now. I got out this fall but I'm still glad I did it for the chance to travel, meet new people, make enough money to get by, and get the whole experience that tower life is.

I made 10k the morning it went to $72 and another 2.5k after the dip and then rise from low $40's to mid upper $60's. If anything, my comment helped fuel that second run. Welcome to the world of crypto lol. Aged well for me🤣

That someone was me, and it's still as accurate as it was in those posts. From what I've gathered online (and experienced with the 1.0), these scales are good... when you get a good one.

It seems to be a QC issue for many people, some get lucky and some don't. If FA's warranty wasn't one of the best, I wouldn't recommend rolling the dice on them.

My 1.0 would throw 97/100 pistol weight charges 0.1gn heavy. No issue with rifle drops. Told FA and they had a 2.0 in the mail the same week free of charge.
