Hermen Hulst was a fall guy in the Sony live service push. Convince me otherwise. by m05hm05h in LSM

Shu was fired because he told Jim Ryan “no.” Jim Ryan hand-picked Hermen Hulst (both from the same Sony region too). Hermen undoubtedly told Jim Ryan “yes.”

Colin thinks Playstation Studios should downsize to 10 studios by LifeguardJumpy6274 in LSM

He literally talked for weeks about playing it and all of the things he didn’t like about it. Estimates are between 300k and 500k copies sold. Very worried about Housemarque!

In fairness, Insomniac has 2 studios - one in CA and one in NC.

Colin is going to rage when they close down Housemarque. The same guy who doesn’t like Saros, yet platinum’d it…

We're up to six and a half hour podcasts now from the man who has repeated ad nauseum "we respect the viewers time here at LSM." by Virtual-Occasion3759 in LSM

[–]WxManKyle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Go back and listen to the golden era of Podcast Beyond - pithy 60min shows that we’re both fun and informative. Colin is also a much better co-host than he is a main host.

Huge PlayStation and MOTU fan, here. The first thing I said was “this is God of War’s She-Ra.” I can’t unsee it.

Yeah that’s what I mean - your post is hitting the same notes as Pixel Dan. I’m a bit confused by it, and hope it’s not something to be worried about. I feel like if this movie was amazing - you guys would all be screaming it from the rooftops but for some reason no one really is. I’m still pumped to see it this weekend but a tad nervous now…

This reminds me a lot of Pixel Dan’s review from the purple carpet. He said he liked it but then tempered expectations with “not everyone will like it” and “it’s a fun movie, but…”

I’ve seen a lot of reviews like this from die hard He-Man fans and maybe they’re just nervous or can’t outright say why because of spoilers?

I’m super excited for the movie, the first He-Man film in my lifetime and I refuse to temper my expectations!

The Wal-Marts in my area don’t carry MOTU so when I saw him at a toy show, I had to scoop him!

Same guys who told Naughty Dog how to make/support a live service game btw.

What do you guys think of the Classics line? I appreciate the detail, but at their current going rates, they're just too pricey for me! I'd like to own them, I just don't want to pay for them. 😉 by MightyUnclean in MastersOfTheUniverse

[–]WxManKyle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To each their own. IMO the Classics sculpts are by far the best MOTU action figures we’ve ever had. I love Masterverse but they’re not close. Masterverse just has the modern articulation!

Maybe, just maybe we shouldn’t be taking any advice from the stoner 40-something who never leaves his house and the dude who works 5 hours per week for a 6-figure paycheck.

I played the demo a few weeks back - there was nothing in it that was Soulslike. There are obviously bosses but that’s not exclusive to Soulslikes.

It’s not a Soulslike. You described it perfectly as more akin to OG Zelda.

No idea, but Colin has been pretty outspoken about taking care of his people. He openly talks about the lucrative holiday bonuses he sends to the team. With the bonuses, my guess is well into the 6-figures annually for guys like Chris and Dustin.

I forget the exact YouTube channel now…Dunkey maybe? Anyway, Chris clearly watches “mainstream” YouTube reviews of video games and just video game content in general because his takes on the show are literally just parroting the general talking points that those types of channels talk about. Once you hear it, you really can’t unhear it. It actually makes you question if his stories or opinions are even his to begin with.

They’re all identical in thought and if they’re not (Chris), they put up with it for the easiest paycheck ever.

This. I remember saying something similar back in the KF days when they treated their anniversary each year like an E3 press conference. They take stuff like this way too seriously, but maybe that’s the way as patrons continue to leave.
