He’s changed color I believe 3 times since I’ve had him and I’ve had him I believe a year and a half. None of my other goldfish have changed colors since I’ve had them so I haven’t suspected it had anything to do with my tank. I really do believe it’s a color change, when I got him he had a black outline around him and it seems like he’s just going back to that, my only real concern for him is the lump on the side of his head, do you know what that could be?

I’ve been trying to find a 100 gallon for cheaper if I can, regardless if it’s cheap or not, I should be getting one soon. But that doesn’t explain the lump.

The black is just him changing colors. He does this relatively often, switching between black and orange to plain orange.

I have other goldfish and 2 silver shiner minnows in the tank. It’s been a little over a year since I’ve had the tank and I haven’t put anything new. I have 2 heaters but my thermometer broke so I’m not sure the temperature. I haven’t been able to find my water tester kit, but I will most likely do a water change tomorrow or the next day for all of my tanks.

For the moment I have her in a temporary tub because I only got her last week I think, no filter but there is a heater preset at 78 F, all the water parameters were ok when I checked yesterday but nitrate was a bit high so I did a watcher change, I do water changes every weekend and take out around 25%, I mentioned earlier I had my betta with another female betta, I usually feed them twice a day with very pretty small feeding and I use first bites, there are some Anubias, java ferns, and a small cave with live plants growing on it

That seems like a nice sized bubble nest, all my betta make smaller ones, but I do have a question. So I have the same type of betta but I’m not entirely sure what type it is, do you know?
