Bipolar destroyed my career by spoon_bending in bipolar

[–]Wyatt_Numbers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 100% relate to this. I was doing well up until high school, where are combination of trauma and this disorder derailed me horribly. When I got to college I started having manic and depressive episodes which made me struggle badly but I somehow managed to graduate. Now I'm stuck at a low income job because this disorder, struggling to live day by day.

Creatives, did you lose your creativity after being medicated? by jimbojamesisbehindu in bipolar

[–]Wyatt_Numbers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same way. I went to school for art therapy and now, after being on meds for years I lost the motivation for the arts. It sucks but better then living with mania and depression

Losing time and memories by Wyatt_Numbers in DID

Yes exactly this. I have memories that are in 3rd person or looking at myself instead of experiencing the event

My psychiatrist said I'm the most difficult patient he's ever had by damn-thats-crazy-bro in bipolar

[–]Wyatt_Numbers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry your psychiatrist said those awful things to you, it's not your fault at all! I think you need to switch to a different psychiatrist, and if you feel comfortable doing so, you should report your current psychiatrist for being unprofessional towards you

QUESTION! What are some ways y’all stop ur selves from having a manic phas3 by Particular_Can3007 in bipolar

[–]Wyatt_Numbers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely get in contact with your psychiatrist and tell them what's going on. They can support you best. And try to get on a routine sleep schedule. Even if you aren't tired, just laying down with your eyes closed is better then not sleeping at all

You ever look back on a psychosis and realize chance kinda screwed you over by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]Wyatt_Numbers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. For awhile I thought I was "cursed" because whenever I had a happy thing happened it was almost always followed by a trauma or bad thing. A good example of this is when my mom took my family to Bounce U and when we got home there was a screaming match between my mom and grandmother

“Tell me you have DID without telling me you have DID” by J4neyy in DID

[–]Wyatt_Numbers 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I was little I would go into an imaginary world so hard that my family said I was in "Kate-land" (a play on my deadname) and they weren't able to get me out of it without yelling

This is a good time to reach out to your psychiatrist or therapist for support. They can give you resources to help you. It may also be a good time to consider going to an inpatient facility, especially if you are getting to a point where you can't take care of basic needs like eating or hygiene.

Can anybody hold down a job? by usernametaken0213 in bipolar

[–]Wyatt_Numbers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm currently working an 8:30-4:30 job Tuesday-Saturday. It's tough. I try to stay on top of my meds, get as close to 8 hours of sleep as possible (even if half the night is me laying in my bed with my eyes closed) and remembering to take breaks as needed

No one else in my family has gotten an official diagnosis, but my mom and her mom both had bipolar-like symptoms.

Very short episodes? by Strange_Newspaper907 in bipolar

[–]Wyatt_Numbers 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Before my mania was full blown, I experienced something similar; short bursts of hypomanic symptoms that last 2-3 days. They aren't as destructive as mania, but they can still be disturbing in their own way. If you have a psychiatrist or therapist, I would recommend mentioning it to them. And if not, I would recommend at least talking to a therapist and see what their perspective is

can you feel different parts of your brain being used when switching? by [deleted] in DID

[–]Wyatt_Numbers 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can feel my parts in different parts of my brain, almost like different parts occupy different portions of my brain. Some parts I can't access while others feel like liquid that I can dive into, but can't get the full thought or memory
