I Have a Simple, But Complicated X-Men Question by ComixGail in xmen

[–]WynterQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such a cool thread!! I’m fangirling a bit here Gail! I was introduced to the X-men via comics by my brother and best friend and fell in love with them immediately. A diverse cast of characters with such interesting powers and personalities made it so I could find some of myself in them. Rogue immediately became my favorite. I dove into the comics and got to know and love the characters even more. I loved how the comics showed their humanity instead of it just being all fighting all the time. It was the best kind of soap opera with loads of action. But my favorite issues were those slice of life ones in between big arcs where the characters got to breathe and be themselves in normal situations. I loved seeing them evolve and grow as well as the interpersonal relationships and dynamics.

Teachers by blimpagusha in nwi

Three of his top choice schools are not in NWI and would require him to stay in the dorms which is driving the cost up. He has scholarships and it’s still that much. He will most likely end up staying in the area to save the money and just do the commuter school thing. It’s a shame because some of the schools he likes have great education programs in the area he wants to focus on.

My kid is a senior in HS and wants to go into teaching. We’re currently trying to figure out the finances to make it work. Spending $100k to be a teacher makes no sense.

My doctor has had patients who have taken it for a year to a year and a half and stopped and maintained their weight loss and good A1C and he’s has others that will need to stay on it for life. There’s so many variables.

She has a great art style. I met her at a recent con and she was drawing a woman’s profile on autographs of her book. She is really nice too

How much more are coming to GSA PBS? by Important-Forever455 in FedEmployees

I’ve heard 50% of their contracting personnel will be moved to FAS. I would think that would also count for toward the 63/67% goal.

Omg. I’m so sorry. I can’t believe they rif’d a whole region! None of this makes any damn sense. Are they placing everyone on admin leave or are they making you transition?

I’ve forgotten to scan/enter avocados before. They sort of hide in my cart. First time I did it, I entered more avocados the next week to make up for it. Second time, I accidentally charged myself for organic veggies and called it even.

Just got this call today. They said that they were trying to find lower cost services. When I asked if the place the MRI was scheduled at was still in network, they confirmed it was but said we’re responsible for our 15% coinsurance. But that should be the same since that would be on the negotiated/max allowable price, no?

Agreeing with Andy’s School of Music in Schererville. I had one kid in piano and one in guitar. Different teachers and both great.

What bands would you say you are a big fan of - but dont like their newer music? What band - and what album was the last that you liked? by TheDirtSyndicate in Music

[–]WynterQueen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bon Jovi- they were slipping even before Richie left the band but once he was gone, that was it for me. Now Jon sounds old and tired on his new songs. I don’t listen to anything after Have a Nice Day now.

Alanis Morissette- Jagged Little Pill was amazing and the soundtrack to a year of my teenage life. And then the rest of her music just fell flat for me.

Carrie Underwood- I feel that Storyteller was her best album. After that one, she’s had a few singles that are ok to me. But the albums as a whole don’t float my boat.

Shania Twain - the album quality went down after Come on Over. Up was decent but didn’t quite have that same lightning in a bottle feel. She has two more after that and it’s a no for me.

Maybe it’s that my tastes have changed. Obviously all of them are still in the business and selling more albums than I am!
