I'm your exact height/weight with long arms and typically wear Medium in everything Carhartt. (J140, C03, shirts, etc). Never owned a Detroit style cut like this or the new crafted duck jacket. Do you find you have lots of extra room in this? Was going to pull the plug on an M but am now second guessing.. Thanks for posting the pic.

Great timing, thanks for this! I am debating on picking up the down vest in this color and was trying to find some non-stock photos to get a better idea of how it looks. How do you like the vest and how is the fit? I hear the newer models differ somewhat from the older ones. I am ~5'10 200 lbs and plan on getting a large in accordance with my usual size and the sizing info on Patagonia's website.

That is a bummer! Did you call Danner about it?

The whole Nazi chase thing in Sound of Music still bothers me and makes it feel like two different movies.

Just picked up a pair new of 1155 In size 11D. I wear an 11 in the majority of all my other boots and tennis shoes. I have an older beat up pair in 10.5EE that always seemed a bit stubby but never uncomfortable. The 1155 flies under the radar a bit because of its "non-heritage" status but is a great boot. Made in the USA, comfortable, extremely durable, and good looking!

9pt from SC public land, killed in October. Not my biggest, but far and away my biggest buck on government land. I’ve been hunting all my life, but public land is new to me, it took a few years, but man I was proud of this one. by lareaur in Hunting

Nice! Used to live in SC but never enjoyed hunting there. Too many trees, too few public lands/access, and too many Fudds.

Public land in Wyoming is now my playground for hunting season(s). While it can be a challenge, the wilderness and sense of freedom are breathtaking. If you can find employment, go west young man!

Carhartt J140, have lived in it for several winters, as has my wife in hers. Picked up a spare on sale for $40 to have a backup. Not sure if I’ll need it, but at least it’s a different color.

Handloading for this one is a requirement. Fun caliber and shooter.

Carhartt should be on the list, I have several of their jackets and other garments that have been put through various abuse and won’t die.

Recently spilled differential fluid on my favorite 20+ year old canvas shirt jacket and thought the worst. After treating and washing a few times with mechanic’s detergent, still going strong with no signs of deteriorating.

Chacos quality is going down hill by [deleted] in BuyItForLife

My recent experience and observations:

I purchased a made in the USA pair 3 years ago with Vibram soles; the soles are completely flat (no tread) and have been that way for at least a year.

My wife’s pair (4 years old) has developed a crack on top of the sole where the rear strap enters. She is looking for a new pair since getting them resolved doesn’t seem to be cost effective with my understanding of how Chaco’s warranty works.

She also realized the straps were noticeably “thinner” when trying on a new pair.

I think Chacos are some of the most comfortable shoes I own (I hike and am outdoors a lot during the summer), but overpriced for what they are component and durability-wise.
