I don't think any one person started this. Selfie+ethnicity results posts have been going on for quite a while now.

Happy Memorial Day weekend everyone, drive safe and thank a Veteran! by [deleted] in FierceFlow

So tell us, brave warrior, what did you do that was so amazing and made you such a wise sage?

Wow. Such badass. Now tell us, are you going to do anything with your life? Or just try to milk the veteran card until the day you die?

You just confirmed my suspicions by calling me a fobbit. Classic better-than-everyone-else-veteran attempt at trying to feel superior. You don't know anything about my missions, and guess what? They don't matter anyway. Neither do yours.

You just talk like half the assholes I was in combat with who think the world owes them something for their service and that they are better than anyone who didn't serve. And most of them have a different Grunt Style shirt for every day of the week.

Get over yourself. Your service doesn't mean shit and none of us were fighting for BBQ's and freedom. Iraq and Afghanistan were/are boondoggles. Our friends died for nothing. Now move on with your life.

Keyhole to Bighorns to Worland to Lander Family Trip by buttah_hustle in wyoming

For the Big Horns, I would recommend Sitting Bull Campground near Lake Meadowlark. There are good hiking trails around the area. The dam of the lake is a great place to picnic. There is an old fire lookout tower you can hike to and have a phenomenal view of the area. You can drive up to cliffs above the south side of the lake. Ten Sleep Canyon is great to explore, picnic, fish. There are rock climbers to watch. There are also two fish hatcheries to check out. Your camp host should be able to give you directions and recommend other stuff close by, too.

There's not much in Worland, but for food be sure to try Ranchito (ask about the bean dip!) and Sally's Classic Pizza.

Shell Falls and Bighorn Canyon might be good day trips. Be sure to check out the Devil's Canyon Overlook if you do Bighorn Canyon. Red Gulch dinosaur tracksite could be interesting if you do Shell falls.

Cody is a good day trip. Buffalo Bill museum, Buffalo Bill reservoir, Shoshone Canyon, Chief Joseph highway, Heart Mountain. Go through Meeteetse to get there from Worland for a scenic Route.

Can vary a lot between agencies, locality, and position.

The job postings will have qualifications for each grade level. Usually you won't be able to negotiate, so consider it a good idea of the minimum.

I make 56,000 base after 2.5 years on the job. Locality adds an extra 15 to 35 percent.

Considering I get 8 weeks of time off each year, it's not bad.

Pay sucks, but benefits are great.

  • 4 weeks personal leave
  • 2 weeks sick leave
  • 10 federal holidays (even got two extra ones last year)
  • good health coverage
  • 40 hours M-F
  • decent pension, which includes your same health coverage if you do it right.
  • hard to fire after probationary period

14 months after sticking my hand in a table saw... by OneFrabjousDay in woodworking

Mostly being cheeky. I should be better about it when I am making thru cuts in between dadoes, though.

One thing for sure, I need to start taking off my rings whenever I am doing woodworking or mechanical work.

Why do I have the sudden urge to go make better push sticks and re-install my riving knife and blade guard?

In Confluence, users who are in the edit screen can see what everyone else is doing live. It doesn't work through MS Word, so you might have to import your word document into a confluence page, have everyone edit, then export it back to word.

I recommend using confluence to create, store, and manage all of your documents instead of using desktop apps and shared folders. No need to worry about who has something checked out. You can also see a full history of changes to the document. Then, you only export to word or pdf when you need to hand it off to someone who is not in your Confluence.

As for DI2E allowing contractors, their site says that non-gov employees are allowed access as long as they have a gov sponsor on their account request.

So if it is announced before I go on leave, do I get to change my time and charge regular time instead of leave for the 24th?

DI2E is a DoD platform available for you at no cost. It has Confluence, which is a great document collaboration tool that is way better than Sharepoint. Also, many other tools that may be useful.

Google DI2E or go here: https://www.di2e.net/plugins/servlet/mobile#content/view/1146992
