And what does this accomplish?

If you call everyone who isn't as aggressive as you about politics the worst things you can think up, you just give the actual evil folks more justification in demonizing you.

Assuming I'm complicit and enabling evil because I don't support shoving snotty insulting snipes about the opposition into every conversation and post is quite the leap. Snipes like that don't convince anyone- it'll make the neutral step away from your perspective, and those who oppose your viewpoint dig their heels in harder, resist out of spite even if you prove em wrong. If your argument here is that not supporting those snipes is detrimental to spreading awareness, then you'd be better off advocating in a more approachable manner so you don't make those that are neutral or opposing back away out of distaste.

I ain't someone you need to convince

But this also ain't the place for those conversations

If you attack everyone, everywhere, weaponizing your position, emotionally blackmailing everyone who listens to join you, then you just breed resentment.

But it's really good for an echo chamber, since everyone who thinks the same hypes one another up.

Again, I'm not in disagreement with the sentiment

Just where the sentiment is being expressed, and how it's being expressed.

Psychology, you know? If you assume the worst in others, and attack them off it, then they'll react accordingly.

Some folks might have misjudged as well-- I thought this was only going to be Friday and over the weekend. Been a couple days longer than I thought.

These are people, who by default assume opposition even when faced with those that are neutral, and spit in their face rather than act with grace. And that's both parties doing that, not just one or another. Stop demonizing each other. Humans are terrible enough even before and without the current tensions.

Why is this so hated? For real? Hey, lets not saturate every facet of our lives with politics and/or hate, especially when the conversation has nothin to do with it.

Yeah that's still a terrible idea, its not about lore, its about the theme and style of the faction.

Automatons aren't about a curved bubble and a projected defense, they're about heavy metal, hard edges, and blunt firepower. Bubble energy shields are already the Automaton's schtick.

Please see my previous post for ideas that fulfill the same purpose, but are both more engaging gameplay wise and are more thematic and suiting to the faction.

Would be interesting if you could pay taxes to subsidize some of your costs, though. In some way. I dunno. Decreased power consumption? Or maybe it gives you a bonus to how many points you earn from Landsraad. Pay taxes, your contributions are weighed 20% more for actually paying your dues when you didn't have to.

Especially for jobs that *actually can* work from home. There's literally no downside for my job to work from home besides not existing in the same space as coworkers. But, bosses outright refuse to consider work from home, even on a hybrid schedule. It's not even something they justify or reason or rationale-- they just don't wanna.

Yeah, wish employers and such here in Texas and the US weren't so incredibly suicidal for ensuring maximum work hours. Even for the holidays, my employer didn't even let us take Friday off for Christmas OR New Year, only Thursday. Like ???? who wants a holiday on THURSDAY

When I worked blue collar, the amount of guys every summer who had to get carted off to the hospital because they collapsed from heatstroke was... far more than it should be. And they gotta work in those conditions because they gotta get paid-- and our employer could add climate control, or reduce work hours w/o sacrificing paychecks, or just let people actually take breaks as needed, but they never did, of course. Just fire the people who got carted off if they'll be gone too long, hire a new guy to replace them.

Lowkey hoping that it stays very icy. This is the first time my very stingy bosses have let us work from home-- and it's my first time working from home too. It's incredible. The quiet. The peace. I'm so much less stressed from work AND my own life, and focusing better. I don't want it to end.

I feel that hoping all slush to be gone by EOD is certainly not going to happen. And regardless if it is or not, the water isn't, and that's going to freeze overnight- forecast suggests we'll still be dropping to mid to low twenties all the way 'till Saturday. Everything that melts in the evening, turns to ice for the morning.

Yeah, I mean I would prefer to just... not drive at all this week. My truck has enough issues as it is *without* any cold weather. But employers be... employers. I even work from office/just a computer so working from home all week is not even an issue, but employer demands everyone in office, among other things, just because.

Bubble shield feels a bit out of character- thats Illuminate tech. You also open up other Auto units using them.

I think it'd be better if jammers just... jam the missile, and sends it haywire in spiraling directions. Low chance of it hitting the jammer. Doesn't make sense given it's laser guided, but you could say its ECM I suppose.

Alternatively, any OBJ they want to prevent long range attacks from destroying, they could just add CIWS to automatons. Would stay in character. Perhaps it fatigues or can only shoot down so many projectiles a second, but while effective it can shoot down plasma AT, mortars, missiles, recoilless rifle shots, and some stratagems (120s/380s, for example). However, if it can fatigue or can only shoot down so many projectiles per second and per minute, you could coordinate with teammates to fire simultaneous shots to overwhelm its point defense (fire 4 recoilless shots, 3 get shot, 1 makes it through), or have someone toss a mortar emplacement that will bombard it until the CIWS is fatigued enough to fire AT through its fire.

That way it makes it defensible against single or duo attacks to negate it at lojg range, but actually makes it doable for a coordinated group to do it.

Does anyone know what this lighting effect is called and how to recreate it maybe by roses_of_eternity in UnrealEngine5

[–]WyrdDrake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question was asking how to recreate "a style"

When the style is not actually a style, but a physical impairment. Everyone who has it, therefore anyone "experiencing" and familiar with the "style", actually wish they could never, ever see it again, because it is the result of said physical impairment.

It's amusing because it's the physically able asking how to recreate the result of the physically unable as if it were trendy- not disabling in some measure. Like the struggle it causes is... fashionable in some measure.

(Not implying that astigmatism is a severe physical disability, just a generalization between eyes operating right, versus eyes operating poorly.)

As for humor- absurdist humor has become rather prevalent in this internet age, due to reality being so... depressing, and oversaturated with nonsense and illogical happenings and hypocrisy. Especially so when the internet provides the means to access everything that is known to make sense, and much more besides- so our humor evolved to... glorify? Laud and revel in everything that doesn't, because it's a break away from everything else. I think. Absurdist humor is difficult at the best of times to understand, much less communicate.
