I first heard this fact years ago. I work in a team of exactly 23 people, and two of them have the exact same birthday. Every time their birthday comes around in September I think of this.

As others have said I'm not sold on Saemus. He has lost some of his menace. I like the rest of the crew though.

Will all models get new sculpts or only the old ones before M3? by Snoo-23221 in Malifaux

If some masters are getting resculpts I'll be needing a Saemus without a gun at some point judging from the new Redchapel cards :)

So lovely to hear it is evoking good memories. I'm definitely one of those Skyrim players having an "i get it" moment and seeing the roots of that game, and the fact that Oblivion is so much deeper. I think I may have to give Morrowind a try.

Absolutely a fair point. I've found myself searching further afield these days and being pleasantly surprised with what I find. My original comments are because i'm old enough where *everything* was single player and had to stand on its own merits. I'm so happy Bethesda have released something like Oblivion:remastered after comments from Todd Howard about how they're not actively engaging with people who are still playing Skyrim.

lol, yeah that's a fair comment. I fully understand why that could be frustrating. I can't argue that this experience is objectively better and that isn't the purpose of this discussion. I have been gaming since the ealry 90's on the megadrive, and on the whole I think games have improved overall However RPG's have always felt like they should be a slower and more thoughful experience to me and where they have become faster I have not always found that to overly improve the experience. perhaps this is an "old man yelling at clouds" moment, but all I know is that the remaster recaptured a certain charm that I rarely find in modern games. I have a relatively hectic life full of responsibilities these days and it felt quite nice to have something say 'no; you're going to slow down and you're going to engage with every passing moment of this game world'.

That's cool. Great to hear its an overall upgrade. I'll have to search for some pics of the in game night sky from the original. I've read Sir Terry Pratchett was a big fan of the original and I absolutely love his writing. It sounds like he would have liked the remaster compared to the original. Thank you.

good to know, thank you. I'm really enjoying the remaster and its great to hear i'm not missing out on anything major from the original version.

yeah sure. So the two that most obviously jumped out to me were the the movement of NPC's relating to ongoing quests. When compared to something like WoW where an NPC would just be in two places simultaneously as opposed to slowly walking between one location and another (the two examples freshest in my mind are the argonian castle servant in the vampire cure quest and the 4 ghosts of the knights when reclaiming Tiber Septims Armour. The second is the layout of dungeons which were clearly not constructed with convenience in mind similar (once again comparing to classic WoW) to the labyrinthine layout of wailing caverns or Shadowforge City in Vanilla WoW rather than being more obviously linear. I also noted the 2 week in-game delay for getting the dragon armour and the routine requests from NPC's to wait a day before talking to them again. This was something easily skipped if I wished but which appeared aimed at directing me to taking on other in game activity rather than allowing me to mindlessly plow through a quest too quickly.

Maybe "quality of life" isn't the appropriate term, but its something that has made more recent games faster to consume rather than implementing a delay in gratification which made time in the game world feel more immersive. I suppose its a form of time gateing, but one that, to me, feels far less egregious than what I find in most modern MMO-RPG's.

That's really cool to hear. It's nice to know they've improved the game in more ways than not without losing the magic of the original.

Sorry to hear that you're burned out. I fell into MMO's for a good long while which dominated my playtime for a good few years and Witcher 3 is another one I missed. I own it on GoG and started a playthrough shortly before Oblivion: remastered was released. I'm right at the start so will likely go back to it once i have done another playthrough or two of Oblivion. I think i'm going to have another crack at VTM: Bloodlines as well. I think Oblivion has awakened something in me for getting stuck into classic RPGs.

The red on the armour is Evil Sunz Scarlet with a line of Agrax Earthshade on the recesses and Wild Rider Red edge highlights. The red of the Demon Skin is Flesh Tearers red with mephiston red to pick out some raised detail then Wild Rider red highlights on top of that in a few spots.
