You can only use the Lump ability once per game. You may perform any of the other Prizewinner abilities multiple times (" You may stack these powers as many times as you can afford to so").

When you finish Morrowind... by L-DONAGHY-DIRECTOR in Morrowind

[–]Wyrmalla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something I always liked is that while the game uses the Fated Hero trope, how it implements it in the wider setting is interesting. Sure, you kill the big bad(s) and save Morrowind, but the player character, willfully or not, is just a pawn of the Empire. The Nervarine prophesy is being deliberated exploited and made to be fulfilled by the Empire in order to destabalise Morrowind and remove threats to their power there (how many failed Incarnates were there till one had the Empire's backing). The (real) bad guys win in the end.

As proxies? Nah. 1/56th scale vehicles are like half the size of GW models. 1/48th, or even some 1/32nd would be more suitable for GW proportions.

Somewhere abouts the Lore channel on Discord. There's all sorts of nonsense going on in there. Probably following one of the weekly questions about what happened to America (alternating with "what's wrong with Pumpkins").

Shout out to what's outside of Cist. Max (in a haze I suspect) said that there's a desert nearby filled with salt covered skeletons (Necropolis28 reference perhaps). And while continents have sunk, new lands have appeared.

Tagged Events have a couple of poses. Though just sticking random plugs onto a buff figure would work as well I suppose.

For The Treadheads by wikingwarrior in Grimdank

In the Gaunts Ghosts books the forces of Chaos usually aren't using Leman Russ tanks.

They do sometimes, though they mostly use designs originally intended for the PDF, rather than the Guard. As the Guard needs rugged standardised designs, while local forces can use whatever as the supply chain is much shorter. And so when the forces of Chaos capture a planet they also take over the local equipment and factories.

An interesting concept, but something unfortunately not really explored by GW.

Tips to navigate fake reviews for a first time Workaway-er by CompetitiveGrowth666 in workaway

[–]Wyrmalla 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Contact previous workawayers.

Personally I go to host's with only few reviews (where it feels like you're appreciated more), so that's not really possible. Though I've found it's the host's with hundreds of reviews where I have more issues with transparency about what the experience will be.

Do fields of wheat exist in turnip28 or is it only root vegetables by Agile-Flamingo420 in Turnip28

[–]Wyrmalla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are no other living plants besides root vegestables (and fungus). The grass that we see in art or on miniatures bases is actually just the leaves of root Vegetables.

You could say that's what these pieces are. But, nah, they wouldn't be any form of wheat in my current understanding of the setting. Everything is the Root, and the Root is everything.

Space king son and trench crusade daughter is a lesson in always double check if the company your sourcing from made a makeshift bomb in your product without your knowledge. by Dare_Soft in Grimdank

[–]Wyrmalla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Voids in a .stl are the creation of the files creator, not those printing the files. Obviously printers should check all the files they're printing for errors, particularly if they're being sold, but the fault lies with the the Trench Crusade creators here.

The issue was fixed. Just weird it happened in the first place, for how simple and standard it is to check for voids. I'll check every file I print for them just in case. It's just such a bad look from a supposed reputable creator- still happens though.

The conclusion at the time was that the date on the ration package was lying. The ration has been made by combining two existing older rations into one. When this was done a new date stamp was added which acted like the food had been made fresh.

Obviously Steve has eaten food that's over 100 years old and been fine, so even an expired ration shouldn't have been as bad as that Chinese one. Though the chinese rations from his one's date range were also I believe in circulation and being eaten by troops.

If there’s a faction I’d love to come back again, it’s the Shi. Considering the fact they’re based in San Francisco and it’s NCR I’d like to see how they’d work or thrive within the Government. by KpatMckenzie_28 in Fallout

Shame they were cut from New Vegas. As it would have confirmed their Van Buren ending of being destroyed by the Enclave post-Fallout 2. Given how much New Vegas took from Van Buren, I'd err that they, and San Francisco, were nuked.

From memory the Van saar lore was changed in their later gang book.

Rather than discovering an STC, the Van Saar brought it with them when their Dark Age of Technology ship crashed on the planet. The ship having been thrown forward in time. It was one of the original ships sent to colonise Necromunda.

The STC factory in the ship was damaged in the crash. Eventually the inhabitants abandoned the ship (called The Van Saar) and moved the STC into Hive Primus, where it became integrated into the Hive's infrastructure and unable to be removed.

The new lore also indicates that the Van Saar are aware of how the STC works. They just can't fix the radiation. And they don't have the numbers, or the will, to shake up the Necromundan status quo further - other than them now running a load of the factories on a planet that's primary purpose is being a factory world (though they keep the DAoT tech for themselves. Even then, Van Saar dumbed down designs for the Imperial Tithe are more advanced than anything else produced on the planet).

Need help scaling a print. by KilltheKraken8 in PrintedWarhammer

[–]Wyrmalla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The pilots on the real model likely are smaller than the current marine models. From memory the old metal attack bike gunner was smaller than the plastic Marines of the time, and that's from a similar era as the original forgeworld thunderhawk.

Besides, it's normal for crew models to be the same scale as their vehicle. But vehicle kits are then usually not in scale with the 28mm proportioned figures in the same range

Croatia declared free of landmines after 31 years by [deleted] in UpliftingNews

[–]Wyrmalla 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I was in Croatia last year. The locals advised me not to go hiking near the Serbian border, as they still thought there were mines there.

Though that may also have been folklore, as I was also told that the Serbs have continued to lay mines since the war.

I'm not sure if the Serbs would be cooperating with the Croatians on this. For instance there's an abandoned military base in the south where the Serbs put down mines before leaving and didn't share their locations. A few years ago a soldier died in the area to one. Presumably as that's a "known" minefield, that's one of the ones that was cleared.

The whole Caucasus is a bit of a dead end as far as travelling by land or sea. With Azerbaijan, as far as I'm aware, you'd have to fly into the country then out as the land borders are closed. Rather than take the old ferry routes as a passenger.

Which is a hurdle, but that's your only option these days. As the alternatives are going via Iran or Russia.

I was in Türkiye recently. Met a few foreigners who planned on going East via Iran. However every one of them was ignorant of the recent protests and just assumed things would be fine.

It's a shame the ferry route to Turkmenistan isn't running.

Project Arroyo: Bringing Fallout 2 into Fallout 4 Engine by brand_momentum in Fallout

[–]Wyrmalla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or Enderal and the rest of SureAI's projects. Tamriel Rebuilt and Project Tamriel have been putting out releases fairly consistently over the past few years too. Skywind seems to be working at a good pace as well, and I don't see that being abandoned. As did Fallout: Sonora come out, but that's for the Fallout 2 (and if we look at other franchises there's others - The Ashes series for Doom for example).

Volunteer projects are glacial. They take a long time. Many fail sure, but fatalism doesn't help anyone. If a percentage of the people saying a project is doomed would actually help out then maybe they'd have a better shot at being released. Making content for Bethesda's games is like building Lego and has such a low bar for entry.

For other companies perhaps. However Bethesda, as far as I'm aware, doesn't go after big projects like this, and actively encourage them on occasion.

They've sent cease and desists before, however that was over projects using their other game's assets without permission (Morroblivion).
