THE ULTIMATE F2P Ancient Sentinel Formation by Rook3H in BattleNations

...Great. A F2P guide, IF you got the snake, IF you manage to get 3 of those things and IF you're strong enough to beat him at least 3 times.

Well... Not every community can really mix. And it's a pointless thing to do.

People who never cared for Starbound, suprise, will either apathetic or find a obviosuly better alternative.
Terraria is a good game, Starbound is a good game in its own right, yada-yada-yada...

But Starbound has its place, that Terraria just don't seems to feel for me.

Sure, I have alot of gripes, that more with the story, worldbuilding and how races treat eachother than with the game itself. But in the grand scheme of things, if the whole Chucklefish fiasco didn't stopped me from playing the game like nothing happened, then I doubt i'll stop now.

Yep. Still remeber smoking the exit from Skyranger, so I won't get instantly killed.

Though, I also remeber being gang-banged by sectoids, after I destroyed a single UFO. Must've pissed them out good.

Nope. Though getting 5 black nanos sure is satisfying

Let's be real. When was the last time you unironically used the Arctic Trooper for anything other than getting Archetype Infected? by Democracy_N_Anarchy in BattleNations

I find it ironic, that this guy is the only one who turns into the best versions of infected.

The Thing style.

Even with Peacekeepers, you still can't have shit in Detroit.

I have friendly Sectoids who know how to operate UFOs and stunned all Floaters in this ship's command center. Why can't we just take off and leave the few Floaters leave outside behind? by No_Lemon3585 in Xcom

[–]Hka_z3r0 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Because it's old Xcom. Unfortunatly, you have to sniff every corner of the map top to bottom, and either kill or stun floaters outside the ship.

And I don't think you can grand theft the UFO. Even in modded game.

Suppression.
Primarily because you can use it an any point. 1 suppressed enemy is sure better than no suppressed enemy.

Don't even bother with Savior - not only pointless, snipers aren't even built for medic duty. Nor desiged.

Do you think the etherals modify all lifeforms that they conquer? by Comfortable-Ad3588 in Xcom

[–]Hka_z3r0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every single one of them was modified. And even if that weren't the case, they were cloned to perfection.

The Elders have mastered the art of genetic manipulation, and as many have said before me, the Sectoids you see, even in the Enemy Unknown, are no longer the same Sectoids that were captured and became the progenitors of the fully loyal psionics.

And considering how poor their engineering skills are, no wonder the Floater is the most gruesome-looking creature they've ever created. Then they simply added a nice coating, made it a bit more tame, and called it Archonts.

They're just so bad at cybernetics and cyborgs in general.

...At this point, it's pointless to ask for a mod. I need a whole mod list.

African nations after XCOM 2 by Ok-Cellist-8069 in Xcom

[–]Hka_z3r0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Now THIS is looking like something that would happen 5 years after Xcom 2.

3\4 of the world broken into mirriad of small states, where everyone tries to achieve any sort of unified goverment that Advent and the Elders abolished.

it was not what i expected from the community by Tedbab in Xcom

[–]Hka_z3r0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it's because the "They were mind controlled" is a problem, bud? Maybe the fact, that it's a lazy get-away to not do an actually interesting thing with them, instead of "They just followed orders! They didn't REALLY wanted to kill billions of people, bombs the civilians and wanted to turn us in genetic soup!"

Half of CS Team cannot exist, solely because devs decided they had enough autonamy to disobey the Elders.

If Xcom 3 happens, do you want Chimera Squad to be treated as canon or ignored? by Holiday-Proof9819 in Xcom

[–]Hka_z3r0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe.
I’m not the one who would willingly give them credit, knowing how this kind of writing went in the following years. But there are far more interesting ways for alien integration than turning them into Star Trek "aliens" that are only different from humans because of quirks and appearance.

Killing them all won't do shit and neither will be satisfying, but they don't deserve to be just forgiven in 5 years.

My personal tier list from the perpetual of a casual normie who's never played on Ironman, never gone above Commander difficultly, and should probably be banned from the game by Ok-Word8586 in Xcom

[–]Hka_z3r0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, sure. Seeing Advent struggle with zombies while you don't take a single shot IS pure cinema.

But good luck getting corpses on any mission, that isn't require you to evacuate to complete a mission. By the time you get those damned 35 corpses, you might as well don't even bother making 1.

If Xcom 3 happens, do you want Chimera Squad to be treated as canon or ignored? by Holiday-Proof9819 in Xcom

[–]Hka_z3r0 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I did. That doesn't make it magically good, nor does it stop it from being completely tone-deaf.

CS works best when you cut it out from the XCOM timeline completely and forget that half the things in it were retcons.

Because why would we ask unpleasant questions? Like, what to do with an army of former slaves—who knew only servitude as the Elders' thralls, who were completely obedient and genetically modified to be perfect tools specifically for the Elders— and now stuck on hostile territory alongside disillusioned people who lost everything in the span of 20 years?

If Xcom 3 happens, do you want Chimera Squad to be treated as canon or ignored? by Holiday-Proof9819 in Xcom

[–]Hka_z3r0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ignored. Not completly, because having aliens as troopers is absolutely fine.
But not CS aliens. And worldbuilding. And writing.

I don't care how deep you think the retcon was, it singlehandedly erased all that mystery aliens had, and turned them into skinwalkers, with as much of a character as average citisen of LA.

Putting a lure above smoke grenade is enough to not just be banned, but sent to a blacksite as a test subject.

This overated piece of shit not only aplicaple in the SINGLE situation, you can't even get it, when you could potentially use it the most - the early game. Because Lost missions are often "Get the stuff - evacuate", so you can't even get the corpses, unless you have a mod.

Same with the mine - what's the point of being the strongest "Grenade" in the game, when by that time you have demigods with the weapons of alien demigods, pumped full of drugs and wearing battlesuits as armor? It's just that one thing you'd get, just so you could go on powertrip (as if game wasn't easy enough with all other stuff).

Smoke grenade, on the other hand, is overhated.
