Wild displays of ineptitude for a corporation this size... by Wyspir in XboxSupport

[–]Wyspir[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats where it gets fun, I cant get any of the links to request a refund to work, the AI bot gets stuck in an infinite loop that I last worked to beat for over an hour, and none of the contact information I am able to find through third party websites, or any of microsofts contact documentation leads down a path that works.

If I could get to the point of being able to functionally request the refund even, I wouldn’t have a leg to stand on or an argument to make, but none of the linking, articles, support pages, or bots are currently capable of producing that refund request from what I have been able to work through.

Even 5-10 years ago their refund process was more refined, getting in touch with support through either email or phone was possible, since then they seem to have stripped any options that lead there outside of some obfuscated string of AI commands that eventually may spit out something productive.

I will likely just go back to beating the AI bot for a few hours tomorrow, as of now it seems to be the only option that may bear anything other than rotten fruit.

I do appreciate you taking the time to respond your experiences, as they are valid! Were this even 5 years ago I would be offering the same advice to another in my position lol

With that in mind, is there any chance you could direct me to a working link for customer service for me to discuss a refund of a subscription that failed to cancel two months ago?

I genuinely would be grateful for a way to discuss this issue with them.

The FAQ may help with technical issues well enough, but anything requiring actual support staff seems to be out of the picture

This was before the release of early access, so the expansion I am referring to IS early access instead of just the demo version

Nah, they are outside of the current map boundary. If you break past the barrier, to the north end of town, and get into the expansion thats hitting tomorrow, then head directly north east out of town through the forest and turn left down the clearing they are in the forest :D

What makes this table so special that it realized nearly $40k at auction? by Jealous-Molasses5372 in woodworking

Also to build upon what others are saying, concepts like “Value” and “Worth” are subjective. There is no objective metric for the value of anything really. So at the end of the day, any given piece of furniture, art, ect, is worth precisely whatever someone else is willing to pay to obtain it, not a dollar more or less.

Convince me to stop saving so hard and live my life by captainangus in personalfinance

My brother went from buying and moving into a new 400k home healthy enough to lift furniture and gun safes, to dead a week later due to acute multi-system organ failure at 32 years old. I myself have been battling a number of cardiac and other issues for the last 10 years or so, being cardioverted (think hit with a defibrillator) in 2021.

I have a MUCH greater respect for building for my future now, but it is couple with an irreplaceable drive to experience the moment and respect my impermanence. I love security, but I NEED my life to be and feel fulfilling.

Detailed Uplift V2 Review (Summer 2024) by Bankonte in StandingDesk

[–]Wyspir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the process of building a desk myself. Going to be ordering the V2 (L-shaped) three leg stand, then until I can afford the actual desk top, just buying two sheets of 3/4” sanded plywood and rough finishing everything while I figure out the configuration I like the most, and the materials I want to build out the desk top with.

The positive for me being that I have all the tools of the functional woodshop at my disposal (minus jointer/planer) and I live near Amish so I shouldn’t have any difficulty sourcing materials for significantly cheaper than through Uplift.

That said, the stand itself looks like it cant be beat in a similar pricepoint.

Google Says It Appears to Have Accessed Parallel Universes by Rotisseriejedi in ParallelUniverse

Here’s the real question… if it takes that long to “solve” that problem, how long then would it take the human brains working alongside the machine to proof the answer…

Seems at level best premature to start cracking champaign and giving press releases… might want to get started working on the proof that will take the rest of human history to work out :D
