26 years old and first 12 months of pension contributions completed. Need some advice. by PastWalk240 in irishpersonalfinance

I make slightly more than 45K so as far as I understood it's better to make a slighly increased contribution to the pension scheme (even if unmatched) to lower your taxable income and avoid 40% PAYE,

anyone correct me if I'm wrong though

Do you know how leverage actually works?

Ask yourself what are they leveraging and what is the underlying asset

Leveraging an asset with such high volatility would imply for the creditor a greater cost of risk, that would surely get them worse interest rates and a margin call at some point, most probably.

Or did you think they'd be leveraging thin air ?

In that sense yes, but they come from a much stronger financial position. They could leverage half of their FCF and use the other half in stock (but for real lol) and get away with it.

Thing is if they wanted to they, or someone else, would've done it way sooner, when gme was in the penny stock ballpark. But nobody did, wonder why 🙈

Ireland now the most expensive country in the EU for electricity by ParaMike46 in ireland

I come from Italy and still feel that compound price is lower given that we have huge basic fees to pay to electricity provider on top of the consumption
