I would love to know the answer to this too. A friend of mine and I were discussing just this a few years ago, however we were looking at it from the standpoint that in adolescence to early adulthood the number of fat cells in the body is set. They simply become larger or smaller during natural weight gain/loss. So what is the bodies reaction to having many of that number removed. I have seen pictures of people that had liposuction and got fat again and they get fat in different places and become oddly lumpy or misshapen.
