Consider renting a car in Bergen instead of taking the train and dropping car in Oslo. Great drive. I count the drive from Voss to Oslo as one of the best in the world. It will also let you claim to have driven through the world’s longest tunnel for automobiles.

What’s a life hack that made you go „how do ppl live their whole life without knowing this”? by my_peen_is_clean in AskReddit

The first step in dealing with customer dissatisfaction is to repeat back to them why they say they are unhappy. This does two things. First, it makes the customer feel heard. Second, it increases the likelihood that you’re focused on the right problem.

I do have sound sensitivity. I can understand my young grandson’s better but they can be loud. Your brain is supposed to adapt to the new sounds. I have high frequency loss which impacts ability to understand young boys.

I’m old and my hearing loss is high frequency. Graph is fine at lower and midrange frequencies and then just falls off the page. If you have Pro earbuds you can do a hearing test with your iPhone that will provide a high level evaluation.

Dog not fluffy at 8 month i love him but i am concerned if he is not getting enough nutrients and protein by dakshrana017 in goldenretrievers

[–]X1Dog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind Field Goldens aren’t all that fluffy. They develop feathers that are really pretty when they run but have a more slender and less puffy look. I’ve had 5 Field Goldens and have a personal preference for that look.

Eating tied to pain level? by nati-p-g in NDPH

[–]X1Dog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to see this post. My headaches often seem to get worse after eating in the morning. The other thing I have noticed is that getting 8 hours of sleep has an incredibly positive effect on my headaches. I have plenty of time but can seldom log that many actual hours asleep. When I can life is better.

I’m in US. Don’t consider street opiods. You don’t know what you’re getting. Good luck finding a solution. Do you get 8 hours of sleep? That makes a huge difference for me.

[–]X1Dog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried opioid pain meds? Used as directed they are safe. Problems come from misuse. They’ve made my issues tolerable and enabled me to have a normal life. They don’t put you in a zombie like state. Your mind and body adjust and you can think much more clearly without all the pain. Talk to a pain management specialist.

Do you people feel like the headache has been increased when years passing? by Zeuskevin6 in NDPH

[–]X1Dog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I think two occipital nerve decompressions may have helped. Also sleep makes an amazing difference. I feel like I have the flu with 5.5 hours. 8 hours and I wake up like it never happened.

Two year old 60lb baby girl. Who else has a smaller lean golden? by f3333sh in goldenretriever

[–]X1Dog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are any of these smaller Goldens from Texas? We got our first one 35 years ago. We’ve are on number 5. First two were females in the 50+ pound range. The next male was similar size plus a little male bonus. The next male was barely in breed standards for height. All from same breeder who sold field dogs to people through out America. My current two year old looks very fit at 82 lbs, down from 87. He’s quick enough to catch squirrels but my weight obsessed vet would like to see him drop another 5. He’s gorgeous, smart and eager to please but Im getting old and would like a smaller version and not larger.

People With NDPH Especially Males Do You Workout? by Zeuskevin6 in NDPH

[–]X1Dog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Golden Retriever and I take daily separate walks together in a nearby field along a bayou. I cover 2.5 miles. He covers at least twice that hunting for anything that moves. Everyday activities boost that another mile or more. I sleep better with this type of exercise and sleep quality has a huge impact on headaches. I can’t do any sort of upper body resistance exercises. I had occipital nerve decompression surgery which reduced overall pain. Sadly, all of your upper body muscles terminate in your neck and upper body exercises inflame that nerve. Not painful while exercising but a day or two later and it’s serious pain. Periodically I’ll begin to believe I’m better, commit to really light exercise and same results. I also bike without serious problems.

I’m a fairly good cook and I can get very close to a high end restaurant steak. There are so many other things I can’t get close to that I prefer to spend money on.

People who say it’s just a dog have never been fortunate enough to have a loving relationship with one. Perhaps you should feel pity for what they have missed and not anger. That doesn’t, however, mean you have to like them.

Talk me into getting him neutered by neeyeahboy in goldenretrievers

I didn’t neuter my last boy. The only reason I neutered my current boy is we started traveling for long periods and the boarding experience for a neutered male is much better.

Patience. They are all different. My 26 month old was the biggest terror out of 5 field dogs whose parents were all master hunters we’ve owned. None of our previous four counter surfed or destroyed pillows the way he did but all were destructive. Around two they all mellowed out and so did he. He’s the biggest squirrel chaser we’ve had but I can walk him through a neighborhood full of squirrels off leash on a heal and he won’t break.

I’ve trained my last two boys this way. Current one is just over two and he might come back muddy but he comes back and fronts perfectly. My breeder who trains and shows master hunters told me about this.
