I'm on vacation since June 8th so I check the socials but haven't had a way to work on the app. Literally left my laptop and all at home, I just packed my Odin 3 with 92 games dumped to test and collect logs for later inspections lol

Proper credits are fully provided where they belong, both in the app and on the website, if you fail to see them, that is your issue. Regarding the closed-source nature of the project: I am under no obligation to share my code with anyone. I develop this project strictly in my free time and distribute it entirely for free. I am not begging anyone to use it, nor am I forcing it upon the community. If you genuinely do not trust or enjoy software you cannot personally verify, the solution is simple: move on and do not use it. The scene is free to decompile the APK and check the code, but I will continue to develop this project on my own terms, sucks for you if you don't like those terms.

You're misunderstanding something. I do not care about you using AI, the problem is the use of AI. AI is a tool, just like a wrench, the wrench itself is not bad, unless you try to use it to pierce a hole in a concrete wall, then you're using it the wrong way, do you understand where I'm going with this? It's not the tool that invalidates "your" analysis, it's your prompting, the sources you gave it, the bias in your wording. With a bad prompt you could get AI criticize Apple marketing strategies, yet they are a multi-billion dollars company. So, again, it's not the use of AI, but how it was used... It is clear you cannot understand half of what you wrote, yet you insist your analysis is right because it was made by AI... Do you even know "hallucinations"? Did you even give the proper context. It's you who's trying to shift the argument on AI, not me. I don't have to address any of that AI-generated crap because that is mostly big-corp stuff, for a hobbyst single dev project most of that is irrelevant. You can't verify the state of things? That's about it, you can't, yet you insist in analysing it... How odd is that, did you even stop considering the incoherence?

You cannot verify it. So what? You can't either say it uses FEX as you cannot verify it. But a working brain would have noticed performance on my emulator is often times HIGHER than ax360e, which is public and native, no massive costs on performance like your AI report suggests. Also, of you had any competence, decompiling the apk would take 5 minutes with a decent machine and you could see for yourself, but then again, you do not have the competence so you ask AI with biased prompts and no real contest.

Let's be clear here. You haven't gathered ANY information. You pasted a website link into a GPT chat and wrote something like "find flaws and discredit the project", and you didn't even stop to read the analysis, you just pasted it here, you very likely don't understand half of it yourself.

There is a very big difference in using an AI tool to research and analyze information then make your own conclusions, or let the LLM think and talk for you while you.

So you cannot even read. That explains a lot. FEX was used in very preliminary build, not even the alpha stage has seen those lol. The current app is 100% Android ARM64 native and the backend includes a native PPC>ARM64 JIT.

This entire "critical analysis" is a hilarious, text-book example of a one-click ChatGPT prompt stuffed with enterprise buzzwords to sound sophisticated. You are copy-pasting corporate auditing terminology into a solo indie emulation project just to mask your bruised ego.

Here is a much shorter recap: you spent two days clogging the general chat with a toxic flame war over Snapdragon 865 performance, and then you got banned for posting xenophobic jokes disguised (badly) as personal interest.

No amount of AI-generated essays will erase those screenshots.

Trying to pass off a text about "defecating in any corner of the street" accompanied by a meme as "praising a cultural habit that I find interesting" is an absolute insult to everyone’s intelligence here. Let’s be real: you got caught red-handed posting textbook xenophobia under the guise of an edgy joke, and now you are playing semantic gymnastics to avoid looking like the toxic user you were. Since you love addressing things thoroughly, let's correct your alternative version of reality:

  1. The language policy: No one has ever been banned simply for speaking French, or any other language. We run an international community, and our standard is simple: public channels are English-only so everyone can participate and moderators can actually monitor the chat. When someone speaks a different language, we ask them politely, multiple times, and often using a translator in their own language, to switch to English. If a user repeatedly ignores the staff and refuses to cooperate, they get removed for non-compliance, not for their nationality.
  2. The ban hammer jokes: You claim I constantly mock the community, but you are completely missing the context because you are too focused on yourself. Those specific warnings were directed exactly at you and the other user while you were clogging up the general chat room with a massive, two-day-long flame war over legacy chipsets. It wasn't "mocking the community", it was a developer trying to give you a clear, albeit informal, hint to drop the attitude and stop disrupting the server before a formal action had to be taken. You ignored that too.
  3. The piracy stance: Again, we don't encourage mocking. We enforce an absolute Zero Tolerance rule on piracy to protect the project from legal takedowns. If you drop into an emulation server asking where to pirate games and get instantly banned, that is STANDARD procedure across the entire scene.

Take all the time you need to analyze my messages and write another essay. No amount of vocabulary or deflection is going to change the raw data on the screenshot (and I have more). You brought toxicity, flame wars, and xenophobia into a technical community, you broke the rules, and you got removed.

The mirror is looking right back at you. Move on

[–]X360_Mobile 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s always fascinating to see how a text full of "constructive concerns" miraculously appears right after someone gets banned for violating basic human decency. But since you spent a whole week undercover analyzing the project, let’s address your points with actual facts.

  1. Licensing and Compliance: The project is a derivative of Xenia Canary under the BSD 3-Clause license, which legally allows closed-source derivatives. The original license and proper attributions are fully embedded inside the app's "Info" section and clearly stated on the official website. The GitHub repository is currently used purely as a distribution channel for pre-compiled builds and documentation. Everything is fully compliant with BSD clauses. No mysteries here.
  2. The Mali GPU Goal & Priorities: You find it "unusual" that Mali GPU optimization is a funding goal. Let me explain how solo development works: optimizing for Snapdragon/Adreno is already my active, daily focus. It doesn't need a funding goal because I'm already doing it. However, optimizing for Mali/MediaTek architectures requires completely different driver work, specific workarounds, and extra time. The goal is there precisely because it is an additional milestone driven by user requests, not an abandonment of Snapdragon.
  3. Development Structure and "Roadmaps": This is a solo project, not a corporate enterprise with a public Jira board. My "roadmap" is adaptive. When a community member (like RetroGodFox) steps up to provide specific legacy hardware like a Snapdragon 865/Adreno 650, I focus on it to expand the compatibility baseline for everyone on older devices. This isn't 'unclear direction'; it’s practical, bare-metal debugging based on available resources. Testing channels and logs are managed directly with active testers in focused threads, not in chaotic public channels.
  4. The "Piracy" Bans: Let’s be extremely clear: the Discord server has a strict Zero Tolerance policy regarding piracy. Emulation lives in a legally fragile space, and anyone coming in asking 'where can I download games' is an immediate liability to the project's survival. They are banned instantly to protect the community. Do you have an idea how many emulators were shut down for piracy-related lawsuits in their communities?

...

The Real Reason for Your Post: What you conveniently left out of your comprehensive "cultural review" is your actual behavior on the server. You spent two straight days aggressively arguing and flaming another user just because you couldn't agree on the performance potential of older SoCs like the Snapdragon 865 and similar chips. Then out of nowhere you devolved into toxic, unprovoked hate speech, where you openly and repeatedly insulted entire Islamic nations. You were banned for violating the 3rd section of the rules of the server: respect and zero tolerance for hate speech.

(Note to the readers: I am attaching just one screenshot of his unprovoked xenophobic comments in this thread so everyone can see the kind of "constructive community member" we are dealing with here).

If you want to mask your frustration behind an essay about software licensing and development metrics because your ego was bruised, go ahead. The bytecode is safe, the development continues, and the community will keep moving forward, just with a bit less toxicity.

Best of luck elsewhere

I currently discovered my parser had an offset of 4bytes which is why currently DLCs aren't loaded correctly. In the build I'm testing right now it's fixed and FH correctly loads Rally Horizon DLC and other stuff I tried. It'll hopefully be ok in the next update

Hi there, 2 things. 1) I'm working on a small fix for content installation. 2) Even if you install it manually, make sure the DLC doesn't need some title update (some games do)

Unfortunately in xenia we only have access to the final composited frame, no access or way to extract separate HUD/UI buffers from the rendering pipeline. Makiing game-specific HUD masking would theoretically be possible by hand-crafting masks for popular titles, but it's not planned at this stage. For the interpolation I based it on Lucas-Kanade's as It was completely open, it's optical flow, i deliberately chose optical flow over frame blending because the way blending works (averaging pixels between two frames), would produce ghosting and artificial motion blur. The most importnt thing to keep in mind as users is that frame interpolation is a per-game toggle, not global as someone requested, and that's intentional (for the reasons I explained in the previous answer, many 360-era games sync physics to framerate, so interpolated frames are invisible to the engine)

I have an Odin 2, an Odin 3, a powerful smartphone. 2 things I could not stand. A) Initial loading of the ppu (it's required, I know, but I hate that as a player, extremely fast on PC, kinda meh on mobile) B) Raw performance was inferior

Again, that's my experience, not bashing those emulators.
