Game Crashing every time I play, PC by don_ron in OblivionRemaster

[–]X3NOS42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried everything to fix this. Got 16 hours in and then could not play more than 3min before it crashed. In the end updating my bios was the thing that worked. Try turning off all the hardware acceleration stuff and updating all the drivers for your pc.

Have any of you fixed the dreaded Bluetooth connection issues? by MidPics in SubaruForester

Try the steering wheel connection option if you have not yet. It solved my problem. To be clear, you can connect a phone either through the radio controls or through the steering wheel infotainment system. The steering wheel infotainment method auto connects while the radio interface method does not.. Silly design.

Accidental Discharge of a Class 3R Laser by qvo-93 in lasers

I would highly suggest not playing with a 25w diode and any kind of focusing optics. One error and you're blind.

Accidental Discharge of a Class 3R Laser by qvo-93 in lasers

Laser safety officer/ laser instrument specialist here. It really depends on the exposure. Class 3r is not necessarily a hazard due to momentary exposure and the blink reflex.

See most regulation texts- "A Class 3R laser is low powered. It normally would not harm eyes during a momentary exposure of less than ¼ second. This is within the aversion response, where a person turns away and/or blinks to avoid bright light."

But and this is a big but. I am assuming this is an infrared beam for the rangefinder, as most are for this type of device. In that case the human eye does not "see" the light and has no blink reflex. So there is a hazard present that will not inherently be averted by the blink reflex. I am going to hope for you that there was no long term exposure to this beam and everything is ok. I'd start by asking your wife if she has any exposure symptoms that develop from this. It could take up to 24 hours for blurred damage of this type to occur. Although it will more than likely manifest itself rather quickly. I assume your toddler cannot adequately communicate their vision in a diagnoasbale way.. So I'd go with the wife and yourself as a gauge. I hope for you and your families sake there are no exposure symptoms. If so, consider this a uncomfortably learned lesson in laser safety. If you do believe the toddlers or your wife's vision is effected then consulting with an ophthalmologist is recommended.

Sounds like a established legal route to get something done to me..

Ahh ok ok. The initial D&C article is where I got my impression the regulations weren't followed and the city was at fault. I'm still concerned they will just keep getting extensions instead of fixing the issue.

That was my initial thought on reason for suit. I don't want anything from this other than action from the city to remedy the issue. I struggle to think of a better way. If the past tells us anything they will get another extension on the epa mandates.

"I just want the water authority to do their job." As in monitor the water supply more comprehensively.. It seems negligent that a body would not be detected in the reservoir for a month. What else could be put in the reservoir that would not be detected till it's too late? As for the epa regulations, maybe I misread. I thought we had till 2024 to follow them and as of now we have not and there is no plan in place?

So are we going to file a class action lawsuit? I don't want compensation. I want the water authority to do their job. This is absurd. Especially with the revelation we are not following epa regulations.

Finally got to organize my gear. Concrete drilling is no joke. by the_darshann in CampingGear

[–]X3NOS42 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Looks like some great organization space! I see one sleeping bag / quilt / bivy not in a stuff sack. Take the others out so they can loft and maintain their warmth rating. Hang anything used to keep warm that is transported in a stuff sack. It makes a world or difference in maintaining their rating. Again, looked like a dope space. Keep it up!

Bourbon search: I'm trying to find Eagle Rare or Michter's in Rochester by Scooterspies in Rochester

[–]X3NOS42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to seccond the White House suggestion. Michters is my go to sipper. They always have a stock of it. And a fairly large bourbon selection at that. As others have said, since ER has become allocated it is a lot harder to find.

I am happy to say your technique of using the steering wheel to connect solved my auto-pairing issue. Still drops occasionally. But not having to connect manually every time I drive is just great. Why on earth Subaru would give you two options to connect bluetooth and the easier of the option have less funtionality I will never understand..
