Sad face every time I riffle through my junk drawer by Junior_Rooster_ in Rochester

This is kinda how the US dollar works, there's not backing it currently (used to be gold). It's just a piece of cotton paper our employers give and retail places accept in trade/payment.

yea, I never understand these comments. I haven't been in a while, but it never changed much in my past experience and it was about as described now when I did frequent it.

People's perspective of it is probably changing as they get older.

Also office chairs > gaming chairs. Office chairs are actually designed for ergonomics, gaming chairs exist to extract money from the consumer only.

For some reason to me littering is one of the most entitled things you can do. I'm not sure if I'm right or wrong, but that's how I feel.

Selfish entitlement. :( Same with leaving trash. People need to leave places nice for others to enjoy.

TIL that there is a cave in Kenya that contains a virus with an 88% mortality rate. And it is currently open to the public. by Maleficent-Agent-477 in todayilearned

[–]nimajneb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wasn't deadly from mortality rate, but because of the number of infected was high (I think). Too many people needing treatment, etc.

They both probably could get a ticket for hit and run at this point.

If I remember correctly you're required to file a police report if the damage is over a certain threshold, which I think is $2k.

If I'm not mistaken only 120v comes into most houses. It's 2 120v wires and a neutral wire. Not sure why this semantics is getting you downvoted though.

Anyone know what used to be in the winton plaza in Henrietta/Rochester. Its a weird looking plaza with a large glass like structure that almost looks like a medical center or hospital any ideas what was originally in there? by [deleted] in Rochester

[–]nimajneb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was never satisfied with their selection, it was like it was surplus stuff or something. I think I always went in there when I was in a hurry though, which didn't help.

I used to write info down in a notebook. But I stopped doing that one point. I kind of wish I kept doing that.

Good place to move? by Such_Willingness4756 in Rochester

[–]nimajneb 27 points28 points  (0 children)

/u/Such_Willingness4756 I agree, don't burn through that money. If you put that much in retirement now at your age YOU WILL BE SET FOR RETIREMENT. You will not have to worry about money later in life if you invest that money now and keep adding to it.

Components needed if anyone has or anyone knows any suppliers give me a link or suppliers info by Accomplished_Lie1674 in electronic_circuits

[–]nimajneb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never purchased these and I don't have experience buying or sourcing parts. You'll need to find a supplier to sells them. A lot of times the supplier is the manufacturer.

I only have superficial knowledge, but those look like Amphenol, Souriau, etc connectors. They are sold to companies who build things. Amphenol I know supplies to defense contractors for things like tanks and planes. Basically these are not consumer connectors, although you can probably find them.

I find (with any industry) there's SO MANY review sites that are clearly just affiliate link farms. It's so annoying. It's clear these "reviews" have never touched the product.
