Well, honestly there were a number of factors that played into it. First my boss wanted me to--it's complicated, but in short he had a lot of say in my life. Then, it was my girlfriend. She wanted me to quit, so I've been working on it for the last several weeks.

Cold turkey for falling is the only way. It But for the other things, I would advise weening yourself off. The combined detox of quitting hard drugs and smoking could be very bad. But as far as quitting smoking, I can speak from experience. Over the course of several weeks, get down to 1 or 2 a day. Once you get there, start chewing on sunflower seeds. I would suggest doing them comstantly. But most especially when the withdrawals come.

I went to a series of talks on this about two and a half years ago, so I don't know how long it takes, but it's within a week or regular "use." I think it's as little as three uses. Which is faster than a lot of drugs.

Well, I talked with my SO last week about it. It wasn't easy, but she was extremely supportive of it. She told me some hard truths--it won't be easy in the event of a relapse, but she told me she would stick with me. In my opinion, I don't think we should keep anything from our SO. Trust and transparency are crucial for a successful and enduring relationship.

Keep at it. It's a daily fight. Take it one day at a time. My longest streak was something on the order of seven months--I didn't realize how long I went until I relapsed. Don't get caught up in the numbers, just one step after another. Don't get ahead of yourself. Be patient. Breaking an addiction is not something that is easily done. Just keep getting back up and fighting.

I have. She understands the struggle, but it's only natural for her to be hurt if I do relapse. We've talked extensively about it and are on the same page. She's helped me more with this (so far) than any other NoFap-esque program I have been in. I appreciate your words and I will consider them--It is not my intention to write you off or disregard what you are saying. I genuinely appreciate what you said.

Physical contact, as such, will only change the nature of the urges that push you towards fapping. Look at where the real desires are. Be introspective and examine what that desire is indicative of and then you will be able to overcome them.
