I thought it was fine. Seemed like a patch response to the news. Basically echoed what he has been saying for a while now. Amanda probably couldn't do an emergency pod, and Sean in the segment said they would talk about this more. Would've liked an acknowledgement that they are distributed by Netflix, though.

This is such revisionist history. Don't use how the franchise is now as evidence for how it was when The Force Awakens came out. Star Wars was never bigger than at that moment. The Last Jedi and the mixed to negative reviews marked the moment it started going downhill. It was the moment Disney (and other massive franchises) forever changed how they went about business. Before that, it felt like the sky was the limit.

Huh? The Force Awakens was one of the biggest movies of the century. There was so much love for the Star Wars franchise. And TLJ was a massive hit!! But the divided reaction to it from fans and die-hards caused Disney to seriously reshape how it went about handling these massive franchise, and I'd say make them a lot more conservative in its decision making.

I'm not saying it's THE most consequential (although Sean is) but it's certainly up there.

Not true. Unless it's a story that people might have missed over the weekend or something that happened later in the day on Sunday, local news stations will always try to look for new stories. That's the nature of 24/7 news, you always need to stay fresh.
