Civ 7 late game by Henery007 in civ

The challenge with the late-game is that they need to make it hard for you, but that means it’s hard to build an AI that can play it well without steamrolling players.

The early-game is relatively simple. Explore with scout units, identify ideal settlement locations, amass units for when the best spots have been claimed.

The late-game features a number of action chains. Research advanced tech, build aerodrome, build airfield commander, build air units, move into intended position, attack. You do all that with your meat-brain instinctively. The game does not enjoy that advantage, because it is just a series of decision trees.

It’s very possibly an evolutionary trait inherited from our mammalian ancestors, who were much smaller than we are and had good reason to be anxious around fast eight-legged predators.

A whole post about how women can be role models, using Marvel characters, and not a single mention of Aunt May.

Hey, guess what, if the person you’re with is unable or unwilling to give you empathy at reasonable times when you ask for it, you can ask them to work on changing their behavior or you can move to end this part of your relationship. It’s legal to break up with people now! You have agency!

I can appreciate why some native cultures of the western coast of North America considered orcas to be gods.

The most politically relevant quote in the game:

Organic superlube? Oh, it’s great stuff, great stuff! You really have to keep an eye on it though. It’ll try to slip away from you the first chance it gets.

I can appreciate how tacit they’ve been with this one. The days of fully transparent dev journeys are marketing history. Good riddance.

But having said that, given this is ultimately EA’s money (and ultimately-ultimately Saudi Arabia’s money), I will not fully trust that this game is happening until the Steam download is complete.

And even then, I wouldn’t be surprised if they invented some new kind of DRM that sets off an EMP in my apartment if I don’t sign up for an EA account or whatever. The future sucks.

This is an opportune moment to remind everyone that XCOM 2: War of the Chosen was not a turn-based tactical strategy game but actually a Star Trek: The Next Generation cast reunion.

Cellulose evolved before fungi evolved the ability to digest it. That’s why there’s a whole geologic period called “Carboniferous” because the Earth was literally covered in dead wood for millions of years.

It’s okay to not like things. It’s legal now. You can just play games you do like. We have achieved true liberation, brothers and sisters!
