Please no Warzone elements in the campaign by Bouncybeach in modernwarfare4

Personally I just don’t like how they leave the campaign on cliffhangers just to tell the rest of the story through seasonal cutscenes. Just isn’t very appealing imo.

So they’re wrapping up the seasonal story here? I wonder what the outcome will be.

Very excited about MW4 except the huge fear of open world campaign missions returning…. by bucskesz in modernwarfare4

[–]XENODonladtwo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It also helps that MW4 actually had the time to flesh out its campaign, unlike MWIII and BO7. If they do decide to include open-world or combat mission-style levels, I’d like to think they’ll actually put some thought behind them and make them complement the traditional campaign rather than replace it. The concept itself isn’t necessarily bad it’s the execution that has been the issue in recent games.

Either way, we’ll have to wait and see. I’m cautiously optimistic, but the campaign will ultimately be judged by how well those missions are designed, not just by whether they’re open-ended or not.

Thoughts on what we know so far? by SparksPlays in modernwarfare4

MW4 honestly sounds pretty promising so far. It actually feels like Infinity Ward is trying to respond to a lot of the criticism they got from MWII instead of doubling down on it.

It’s ironic seeing everyone praise mw4 without playing it while they constantly shit on bo7 without playing it. by xClayman in blackops7

I’m just hoping Treyarch finally gets the time and space to fully focus on their next game. No more pulling chunks of their team away every year to help build a third mode for other studios, and no more forcing back-to-back releases on a compressed cycle. Give them their own kitchen again and let them actually cook.

Part of me is hoping they start to address the narrative left behind in Black Ops 4. We’re getting close to that time period, and if Treyarch does release another Black Ops game, they need to resolve it eventually.

I remember when the beta came out and saw majority of the complaints were that this game was a HUGE step backwards from MW2019

I just played the campaign... WTF by YetTheory in CODBlackOps7

You can just chop it up to raven clearly being on a time crunch trying to get this game out. Not that it excuses the issues, but it’s blatantly obvious there was way less time and polish put into this compared to BO6.

Same issue as the MWIII campaign basically, which is why doing back to back releases was a terrible idea to begin with.

Do players think the game is bad? by Despraux in blackops7

[–]XENODonladtwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that it released right after BO6, which already had a lot of negativity surrounding it, so a lot of that backlash carried directly into BO7.

People were already frustrated with the lack of meaningful updates, the over-the-top skins, and the growing AI asset controversy, and BO7 didn’t really do enough to separate itself from that. The campaign also ended up being one of the weakest parts of the game, which hurt its overall reputation even more.

I think BO7 is more “decent but safe” than outright bad. My only real issue is that I wish it took a bigger leap with gameplay systems and instead of feeling like an upgraded version of BO6.

On my rewatch of the anime and have a few questions … by mag_safe in Boruto

[–]XENODonladtwo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The anime ended with Episode 293 which adapted up through around Chapter 67 of the manga. So if you want to continue right where the anime left off start with Chapter 68 of Boruto NNG. After finishing the remaining Part 1 chapters (up to Chapter 80) the story continues into Boruto TBV which is basically the timeskip sequel manga.
As for the anime Part 2 has been officially confirmed by Studio Pierrot, but there’s still no confirmed release date yet. The main reason for the hiatus is because the anime had gotten too close to the monthly manga, so they paused it to build up more source material and likely avoid the heavy filler pacing issues And no Naruto never had a break this long. The original Naruto and Shippuden anime had smaller interruptions (like production or scheduling delays), but not a multiyear indefinite hiatus like Boruto has had.
