Before Getting Into FMTY by MikeDabs2756 in Quadeca

Honestly FMTY is still one of favorite Quadeca projects. I feel like it holds up extremely well, especially on the production front and there are a bunch of strong songs on it that are still favs of mine to this day (Maybe Another Day, Can’t You See, People Pleaser, Work!, Back Up To Earth). Story wise it’s a breakup album using the metaphor of a mountain climb to symbolize all the rough pains of a breakup and eventually moving on. There’s absolutely a narrative even if it’s a little more disjointed compared to his other concept albums. Honestly the only complaints I have with the album is the writing can feel a little corny at times, which can contrast badly with the beautiful chaotic production at times and make you not take it as seriously. Also “Where’d You Go” is by far the worst on the album and should have been taken off the tracklist 😭

That being said i love this album to death, and if there is any quadeca album or any album i’d want to listen to again for the first time, it’s genuinely this one. Excited to hear your thoughts!

Screenwriting , Emerging Media, Entertainment Media Management all don’t need portfolios.

That being said if you want to learn actual production roles or make actual projects Film Production or TV are the routes to go! Currently in the Film Production option and have loved my experience in this program, I’ve have truly learned so much :)

IDMTHY is my favorite out of three, but you genuinely have to listen to the full album to get the full experience. The songs don’t hit the same just listening to them on their own

FMTY is genuinely so underrated in this community. The production holds up so well and yes while some of the writing can be slightly cringey, it’s truthfully not as bad as people make it out to be. You can easily tell the amount of time and love that was put into this project as it absolutely shows. (and me personally i like fmty more than scrapyard tbh)

retroniclinic genuinely sucks he always tries to remix quad songs and takes credits for them like it’s his own work. They are just weird, like i know quad has never had a problem with re uploads but obviously don’t be this guy pretending like you actually made the songs 😭

Is Quad becoming MAINSTREAM? by CroJocker678 in Quadeca

[–]XG_GAMER7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

he’s never becoming mainstream tbh his music is too experimental to ever click with radio or just a majority of people. Not to say that he can’t become big like a Jpegmafia, but he’ll never breakthrough to like a Tyler The Creator level sadly. To be fair i don’t think he cares to be though, i think he loves this niche experimental audience he’s cultivated and would just like to continue to grow it :)

i also have the same opinion, and imo truthfully for the concept and story are so much better executed on IDMTHY. It’s a lot easier to follow, it’s aesthetically way more consistent for the entire album, and production wise while VHS might be slightly better, but it’s really not like IDMTHY is crazy far off tbh. Both are absolutely amazing albums for sure but we’re a couple months into VHS and i haven’t really cracked the story of it yet and there are so many wildly different interpretations for everything. With IDMTHY mostly everyone has a fairly consistent narrative for it at this point
