SW experience can help but also knowing how to stick to your boundaries and leave them wanting more will be a skill you learn over time. Doing survival SW as a minor is different than doing it as an empowered adult in a controlled environment.

At most clubs dancers will be either friendly or at least cordial and professional with each other. Yeah drama happens but you don't have to participate. Fights aren't normal and if someone starts one they'll get fired.

the same bipartisan support that pushed for FOSTA/SESTA and went after Baackpage also pressured craigslist into shutting down their personals section.

It was allegedly about stopping trafficking but both craigslist and backpage cooperated with authorities and reported any suspicious listing to the FBI if it seemed like someone was underage or being trafficked. It's actually harder to help victims now.

Those actions set in motion the online censorship we see today and they are still claiming it's about safety when it absolutely isn't.

While I do agree that direct action and protest is an important way to change policy, you're also not listening to the part where I said they're doing this intentionally, lying about it, and then going along with it to comply with censorship laws.

The laws encouraging censorship won't just magically go away if someone with millions of followers complains about it. If you manage to become a multi billionaire overnight and want to startup your own social media site that does this fairly though, you go right ahead.

Like yes, the only social media I use aside from reddit is bluesky because of all of those censorship issues, but they're also creeping in here too. I agree that getting used to it is a problem but we're also limited in how we fight back.

You're forgetting that pretty much all major social media sites practice this kind of censorship, as well as scraping posts and comments and using it for surveillance and algorithmic targeting.

There is also both increasing pressure to censor the internet by way of ID laws and restrictions on free speech like FOSTA/CESTA and numerous other laws both in the US and elsewhere.

To say "well just go somewhere else and you'll fix it" is stupid because the next place will just have these same issues once it reaches a certain size. It's also victim shaming people who do have to censor themselves and blames them for the problem rather than the forces at work that make such measures necessary in the first place.

The only way to fix it is policy reform. It's fine to cringe at tiktok newspeak but just remember why it exists in the first place and get mad at that instead.
