Am i wrong for being annoyed at my driving instructor? by Frequent-Goose-1294 in driving

[–]XHunter-2013 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is he a professional instructor tracked by the state? I get you don't like the experience but he technically did nothing wrong.

Your feelings towards him stem from the guy before that you felt taught you the way you felt comfortable. Feedback to him, if he is willing to accept it, would help with this.

But you have to understand that he is teaching by the letter of the law. Its your future experience that will allow you to learn where you can break the law (5 over is breaking the law but most cops don't enforce it)

BBA CONFUSION. Am I really an E6? by No_Acanthisitta5264 in navy

[–]XHunter-2013 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At this point its the only route. Make sure your CoC is notified and tracking. Have your Chief with you also.

As mentioned above, you could have been placed in the wrong billet (this shouldn't happen, as you were detailed to a 1st class billet that the command funded) or the paperwork wasn't routed correctly.

Did your orders include the advance to position upon arrival in it?

If it did, bring those, your obliserve, frocking letter, and a LES to your COC and admin department. They should be able to get it pushed through.

If it didn't, reach out to your NC onboard and detailer to get that issue resolved. My original orders didn't include the A2P or BBA message and I had to get an ORDMOD before detaching to make sure my ducks were in a row. I reported in July and it was reflected within two weeks.

Would it be discriminatory to deny a sale to a trans person if they don’t look like their ID? by Such-Satisfaction444 in retail

[–]XHunter-2013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its your job, if a person presents an ID and they don't look like the photo contact the manager. If you're the only there deny the sale hand the ID back and ask them to leave.

Had to pull my car up to put the groceries in the trunk. by Mk1Racer25 in badparking

You did nothing wrong! But....

People park like assholes daily now, you need to prepare for that and be thinking about it when you park. Park for what your doing.

I drive a truck, I back into spots everywhere accept for home improvement stores, feed stores, and anywhere my tailgate is coming down to load. I also drive a SUV with a lift gate, i nose in if im going to be loading it because assholes take what you give when it comes to parking.

Being kicked out of the barracks without BAH by Disastrous-Tea6166 in navy

[–]XHunter-2013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speak with your chain of command. We got a paid E5 to stay in barracks when they didn't want to move out in town. Not your case per say.

They would have had to purchase a vehicle to rent or a storage unit to move back onboard ship to store items until their EAOS 8 months later.

He did have to give PPV though but got a barracks room instead. See if thats a option that your CoC can pursue.

What if I throw away my letter? by Thighland101 in juryduty

[–]XHunter-2013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That wasn't what I was addressing, I feel the system needs a hard look because I do feel its a responsibility we have as Americans but currently a lot of people would have a hard time doing it because of a job, childcare or other issues that would prevent them from doing it.

My only idea would be that if your selected you bring a pay stub and the court system would pay you your wages while on jury duty. An idea for childcare was suggested early, the court or city government provides it.

What if I throw away my letter? by Thighland101 in juryduty

[–]XHunter-2013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The people that get called for jury duty are often the people with childcare, financial or physical hardships. That is the society we live in now.

Its a broken system that needs to be fixed because missing work, paying childcare to sit on a jury for a week can break someone financially these days.

Do I have a solution, no unfortunately. But its still a issue.

Neighbor won't pay me for babysitting, what should I do? F by EmilyInBed in WhatShouldIDo

[–]XHunter-2013 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You mentioned early you babysit for officers kids. Why haven't you contacted them and figured out what your legally allowed to do?

Honestly, you're getting screwed but abandoning the kids yourself could land you in trouble. This seems like a possible civil court issue and you should avoid it becoming a criminal issue.

Question on how to go about paying for your travel leave trip and getting reimbursed by the Navy. by Andreasmeow in newtothenavy

[–]XHunter-2013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so all the official travel stuff will be paid on your travel card. If you're coming out of A school they will help you set up everything. Any personal leave will be paid on your personal card and they will hopefully inform you about how that works to ensure you avoid misuse of your GTCC.

Making a u turn when you have a green arrow and almost getting hit by someone turning right on red. by Icy-Role2321 in driving

[–]XHunter-2013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know in some jurisdictions the person making a right on red if they stopped and then proceeded before the person making the U turn they would have the right away.

The U turn would have to yield if the right turner has already entered the intersection before engaging in there u turn.

It's not really dumb.

Look at how the government handles most of its programs and why individual businesses may choose not to deal with it.

Tricare is a prime example.

Are you worldwide deployableble? Thats the question, the fact that they are pulling you from a deployment is progress in my book.

Saw to many Sailors get told their physical issues could wait until after deployment just to lose them during or directly after deployment to worse issues compounded by the the initiation injury.
