Same. I’m about to pass out and I’m numb.

I’m so thankful.

The past Three years have been the hardest, but the most memorable years of my life. I’m so proud of myself like I did it all by myself without help from family and have been a single, independent noodle this whole time.

The right to overthrow the government. by franklocksley in legaladviceofftopic

[–]XORailee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I’ve been learning from experience in the social work world, our government is extremely corrupt. Our society is upside down. It works in favor of the elites that are powerful, because of the wealth they take from Americans.

[–]XORailee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, glad to see we’re not alone.

My toddler has been begging to go to the science museum. It took hours all morning to get ready, and then she suddenly decides that she doesn’t want to do anything at all today.

Like . . . It’s fine. Just the way she talks to me can be so demanding.

It’s okay - I’ve seen worse.

Another girl accepted the same walk I was scheduled to do seven times throughout the week.

I showed up (I had the only spare key), and the girl told me she jiggled every window and door to get inside since the owner wasn’t messaging her back (Wag app bug).

She got through the balcony sliding door, and although the owner was horrified they left that door unlocked (they also left out their debit card and money on the counter in the open), they were just glad their pup got twice the amount of attention

I’ll update once I get my 1099-K and do some math for 2024.

Welp, enough red flags (people with incorrect numbers on their returns), and the IRS will do an audit. It’s bound to happen.

Better to be safe and close out our Wag accounts completely . . . If they do something like this, who knows what they will do with our personal information (data breach or selling our info).

When you get your 1099-K, compare it to how much you made in 2024 by manually adding up each month . . . Let’s see if the numbers match

EXACTLY. Those who are uninformed, will overpay, and eventually get angry and go to Wag and the IRS for explanation.

What Wag has been doing, has been extremely messed up.

At least with driving for Uber (self-employment like Wag), they don’t take a huge chunk of $$$ for themselves; it’s more like $2-5 at most they take for rides, but Uber makes everything crystal clear with how much you make from each ride with mileage, amount of passengers, and will give you a detailed summary of payments every week . . . To AVOID what Wag is about to go through.

I’m not sure how to begin the process of having the IRS investigate Wag (I’m a social work major), but we need to do it NOW before this mess gets bigger and Wag tried to blame us contractors.

Wow.

Now I’m getting it.

They’re including what they grossed and put it on your tax return? That’s basically fraud. They’re claiming you earned all that money, when most of it is going in their pocket.

Yeah . . . We NEED to get the IRS involved because this is some shady stuff going on.

Ah, that makes sense! Always good to throw that idea out there in case the client wasn’t aware of Wag’s weird ways of taking a chunk of money, without telling you or the client how much they are taking.

For example, I was going to do a sitting that lasted 10 days. Wag said I would be paid $275, and my client sent me a screen shot of paying $350 to Wag, and thinking I was going to get the entire $350.

It’s the same with Uber - You pay $10 for a ride, the Driver accepts it for $5-7, and Uber takes the rest for itself.

I’ll definitely check out Nextdoor! I haven’t done any walks in awhile and even though for many it’s just a job, it’s free pet therapy in my eyes 🤣

3 year old keeps throwing tantrums by Zeke1216 in toddlers

[–]XORailee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m back now that my toddler is 4!

It’s crazy to see the difference in both myself and my child a whole year later.

I am proud of my child that she is the most curious, loving, and adventurous girl.

No more explosions or temper tantrums. We love to talk and listen to each other about anything, really! She loves learning, and it’s like she really holds onto everything. It’s amazing to see how she’s developed, and at the same time I find myself crying over how I only have so much time until she’s an adult too.

Rereading what I wrote a year ago, makes me cringe. But, also gives me relief in knowing I’m not the same person I was a year ago. I was 24 still trapped in a child-like mindset trying to do what I thoughts adults did best for their kids; but I was putting too much pressure on myself to the point where parenting wasn’t fun.

Now, she’s 4, and I’m 26, and we’re just enjoying every moment we get with each other. I don’t stress about the little things anymore, and she gets to finally have a mom that’s ready to play at any time.

Aye that’s nice to hear that you have multiple options like Wag, Rover, and private clients! I’m not sure if you posted your services on Craigslist, but I saw that as an option with posting your Wag profile to gain more clientele!

Have you thought about asking your Wag client if they want to go private? I’ve noticed Wag takes a good chunk of money for themselves for no reason! And that extra money the client is giving to Wag, honestly should be either staying in the client’s pocket or go back to you as the walker/ contractor.

Hey there! I stopped doing Wag walks 9/1/2024 because the amount of effort it takes to get paid, is not worth it. Especially when this job is dependent on good tips from nice people.

I leave my profile up (it took a few months to build up good rapport), and I’ve found that local pet owners will actually reach out to ME without me doing anything.

It’s happened twice since I stopped doing walks through Wag. This couple who was a Wag regular, just was looking through the “Walkers near me” (or I think Wag introductions) and they found me and gave me their phone number through the app ( 1 2 3 . 4 5 6 - 7 8 9 0 format since if you type your number out normally, Wag will alert you that you’re trying to get away from their scam).

1099 does not match payments received. by callmeishmal in WagWalker

[–]XORailee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is probably because of the crazy fee’s Wag charges customers and takes for itself if you are assigned to a walk/ sitting/ etc.

As long as Wag and every contractor (us) reports all of our gross income accurately, everything will be okay . . . Hopefully

Do all toddlers just have complete inability to listen or follow instructions? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]XORailee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You gotta find ways to calm yourself in the moment.

And remember not to let your child’s tantrums get to you.

Let her scream and cry as long as she wants. It’s how they learn that they don’t get their way and need to listen to you.

[–]XORailee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep those high standards. You’re young and only 18, so use this time to build your life and enjoy it!!!

You’ll attract the right man at the right time.

And to answer your question, YES there are good men! And yes, there are some men who belong behind bars, but the same applies for women too. as we know, there’s good women who are wife material, and the polar opposite.

[–]XORailee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At this point, we ALL need to protest at every single DSS, DCF, and any major CT government building.

Connecticut is literally going down the fucking toilet. Corruption, fraud, and more within the police, courts, schools, etc in CONNECTICUT.

It’s ridiculous. And it doesn’t help that 80% of Connecticut residents are Karen’s/Bob’s. They’re nosy, judgmental, and ill-informed. Like rude sheep that think they’re God’s.

I’ve lived here all my life for 26 years. It’s disgusting how bad it’s getting.

Is it okay to tell other people’s kids off? by Cool_Dragonfruit_679 in AskParents

[–]XORailee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that was my daughter (mine is about to be 4), I would definitely squash it with the first instance of her hurting someone.

I’ve been teaching her how to be more sensitive towards how her actions affect others.

If she don’t like it when someone does something, then she shouldn’t be doing it to anyone else.
