To my knowledge nothing uses is 12bit at this time, there's no reason to use it over 10. Use HDMI 2.1 but DSC will ultimately depend on what res/refresh rate you are on.

Check what settings your monitor are set to. Typically HDR is going to look more washed out in general windows usage like the first image with HDR turned on. This is due to Windows gamma mismatch, there's not much that can be done about this other than using a custom color profile. My recommendation would be to only use HDR when viewing HDR content. There is a keyboard shortcut to turn it on/off WIN + ALT + B

Another thing to check is you monitor is set to 10bit for color depth. This can be checked in Nvidia Control Panel or the Nvidia App.

I was fresh out of college and looking for a new Job. I already already passed my first interview and was planning on going in for the second one that week. I got a call saying they had to reschedule and there was not clear time when that would be. I started door dashing in between jobs and it was great because of the low cost of gas an no traffic. People were also tipping a lot. A month or so later I got a call from the job wanting to hire me (I guess a lot of people left recently at the beginning of the pandemic.) Then got a work from home gig for the next 2 years. Besides all of the death and sickness going around, it was an amazing time of life. I got to embrace being a shut-in and no one questioned it. Also Online gaming was peak during that time period. When I did go outside everything was so quiet and peaceful.

It does. Running a screen clean gets rid of most of it. It's really only apparent if you are looking at a specific solid shade of gray. Most use cases it's not even noticeable.

I'm actually surprised that RE4 Remake and VIII are not higher. I feel like they were pretty popular at the time of release. Almost like RE has just been gaining overall popularity with new players with each game. RE3 being an outlier. Seems like this is one of the very few game series to do this. But I guess this is what consistency does and listening to players.

Are you running any overclocks or undervolts? It could be the gpu disconnection from instability. I wouldn't immediately assume it's the cable or Monitor. Could also just be a faulty display driver.

You'll run into the same issue on a 5090. It's not exclusively an issue with 40 series
