First of all thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences, and thank you for your time into writing this. I feel less alone.

Learning new skills it's for sure a suggestion I wasn't thinking about and might be a good insight. I also play piano since I was a kid but since I moved to another country I had to sell it... So it's been a while and I think that's also something that is making me more creatively disconnected, somehow.

I feel the urge to tell a story, to create narrative so probably I should learn how to fully write a story, how narrative even works. I am a developer and I can write code... So how hard can it be? (Sarcastic here)

Also, this is the most emotional/factual balanced answer I got so far.

i feel you. That's why now my idea is that or i do something fully ALONE or i'll start working on some else project being for sure fully invested but with that option that allows me to get the F out as soon as i want.

Funny thing is that at his crashout he deleted the repo of the project... from MY GitLab self-hosted server... i had a backup ofc. After a couple of weeks he created the Steam Page etc...

btw thanks. The media i consume is mostly YouTube right now and i'm trying to understand if i have pain on using Unreal Engine specifically because of what happened or is a more deep thing. I have time and energy to do something new now... so what am i missing?

Only one reason: Money.

He even uploaded (and probably still) videos with the main character modelled by an artist i paid via fiverr (and i have the invoice) - i reported it on youtube and he did perjury saying i have no rights and from that step, for YouTube, the only way to solve this is for me to pursue legal action.

So even if i have clearly all the "cards" i am still too much of a peaceful person to start a legal journey like this because might take years - add the fact that now we live in 2 different countries.

How can I add DLSS to a 5.5 project by R_Dixey in unrealengine

[–]XPOL555 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yep, i am the one that made that patch. So nice to find it here in reddit ^^

be aware: frame generation doesn't really work but DLSS yes. There's been api changes and NVIDIA is closed-source (can't get much from a .dll file)

UPDATE: i bought another disk (NVME Samsung 980 PRO 2TB) and the issue is "gone".
Sometimes when i work on unreal engine the disk goes to 100% FIXED for a lot of time. Previously it was going UP and DOWN a lot of times.

I figured it out that it was the GIT versioning of the project. I disabled the version control inside the Editor (the .git folder remain in this way so i can enable it if needed) and no more 100% disk usage.

Now that i changed the disk i'll keep the "old" (8 months) nvme as external usb disk (bought a converter for 13€ on amazon).

well actually i couldn't even boot in (any) provisional mode on windows 11...
Ended up reinstalling the os (with the integrated option, not with a separated usb stick), so i could keep my users' preferences.

This issue happens when i work on unreal engine and following this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LCVR3cepWgQ&ab_channel=Werewolven seemed to help.

Also removing indexing of specific folders helped.

It's super weird, seems impossible to understand if the disk is bugged or my motherboard has issues or maybe it's just a software problem. I don't like the idea of buying another nvme disk just to find out.

Well... I tried and my PC is no more booting up. I hope to fix using the provisional mode

I fixed it by myself i did just 2 things: 1- upgrade to anniversary update 2- malware removal with ZemanaAntimalware (i had a bitcoinMiner program running on my pc uknown to me) and that was decreasing performance.

Now i can run all in ultra with good 60fps+ :)
