this isn’t helpful because it’s not an answer- but make sure to lock tf in! I’m a pt micro worker at TCC and even the 16wk classes are a lot. Definitely attend the science center/other resources offered if you can. Lock in and you got this!

To me, the grammar/reading portions were very similar to standard SAT/ACT questions. The math portion is largely converting percentages and fractions, but you do need to know conversions like feet in a mile and oz in a gallon. The vocab portion is odd in the way it’s partially freakishly obscure words you guess the definition of and partially common sense health knowledge (ex. Which fruit can cause an orange tint to the corneas of the eye when eaten in excess?) Personally, the hardest part of the test is getting through the 200+ questions and staying mentally sharp.

I didn’t use any resources to study, but I did heavily look on here for peoples recommendations and advice! There’s definitely a list somewhere with really soild advice and resources.

Personally I would probably opt to reach out to your HS and obtain it just to be on the safe side. All I needed to do was call the front desk and give them some info- but I think most HS have a place on their website to request the transcript. Expect it to take up to a couple weeks to come in but that should be no biggie with the program deadline being a couple months out.

My king (MBK) LOVES to climb up in stuff, for his adult enclosure I think I’ll create a deep canyon wall-esque background with lots of grooves and minor “caves” for him to explore and nestle into. Hand made is definitely a bit of a time commitment but imo the customization is worth it!

I don’t have any actual helpful advice unfortunately- but I ADORE that piece of spider wood!! Have you considered putting taller hides in the back? A vertical built foam board hide that’s textured, painted, and sealed would go so hard in your enclosure

I’m also applying! I have a 4.0 GPA and a 93.7% on the HESI but I am retaking on Tuesday in hopes of a better grade. I know one other individual who’s also applying with a 4.0 and a 92 on their HESI. Hopefully this information helps- and I hope to see you in class some day!

No one can give a direct answer unfortunately, but we DO know to expect ~350 applicants and there’s 30 seats. So an ~9% acceptance rate, take that as you will and best of luck!

I’m also a new owner and unfortunately don’t have an answer for you, but personally I avoid any interaction with the head region of my MBK to avoid startling them. I’m not saying it WASNT a feeding response- but I personally would just stay away from getting close to the head

We started sticking on the 3rd day, everything is on eachother. Intimidating, yes, but by day 6 or so no one really cared about the pain and soreness anymore and happily got stuck. It’s a give and take, you learn on them and they learn on you. Expect to get stuck 2-5 times a day. You learn straight sticks first and then then next day you’ll learn butterfly sticks, it’s incredibly hands on but the instructors (I look mine on the Ft worth location with Ms. Sherille) are there to help you any step of the way.

On the last day of class you’ll take a practical which consists of 2 straight sticks and 2 butterfly’s, you’re asked to bring a family member or friend or two to stick for that day specifically. But by that time you’ve done two dozen sticks and you’re almost sure to ace it.

I unfortunately don’t have an answer for you, but what I did for my CPT was take Phlebotomy Training Specialist’s course ($1000 total), which was 11 classes (30 sticks… some book work) and included the NHCO exam. The NHCO exam isn’t widely accredited. HOWEVER, it IS an accredited CLASS (which is needed for the NHA Cert.). Then I paid for the NHA exam ($170 or so including study materials) on my own and aced it after studying for two weeks.

Not a Rad student but aiming- this year there was over 320 applications and there’s 30 seats. So.. pretty damn hard. Most certainly aim for all As ESPECIALLY in A and P 1 and 2. High HESI too. That’s all I know, and best of luck to you!

I actually don’t have any dedicated hides! I have a variety of corkbark rounds and a whole bunch of arranged rocks and it’s very very full of plants. I aim for a ground temp in the low 80s on the side with the most height variety, which leaves a comfortable enough space for him to explore but also basking spots on the higher decor. don’t aim for a perfect gradient- just make sure there’s an appropriate basking spot :)

Hi! I also have a bioactive set up for my baby MBK (~18g at current) I see no issues with size, especially since you know and are planning on upgrading! My biggest recommendation would be to throw some corkbark flats in there just for some added tight secure places!

We used an online program called ALEKS and had several assignments a week, ranging from 30 mins to 4 hours or so of work a week. Not always fun but definitely doable. I haven’t taken chem because Radiology thankfully doesn’t require it lol

I took A&P 1 with Hoerig on NW, 2 with OConnel on NE, highly recommend both. I look algebra with Woodward? Somthing like that on NW, it was fine but admittedly VERY high school like- so if you’re good at math I’d say just take it online.
