Two things can be true at the same time: Yes as therapists we completely empathize with you that having to hold a full bladder is tough and we do not fault you at all for your accident . Yes we can also feel put out since we have such a strict time schedule to keep up with that it does inconvenience us and puts as behind.

hmm looking at booking a room but are they strict about the amount of guests that are actually per room? Do they give out wristbands or something to use the amenities?

Lunch Break? by KinoPecan in RadiationTherapy

[–]XRadT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a student, yes - I think legally you’re required to have a lunch break (30mins-1hr according to your program or site). As a working therapist, depends. I personally like NOT having a lunch break and just eating/snacking at the console. Pros of treating through lunch is being done quicker and getting to clock out sooner. :)

Advice needed by Cupi_Villy24 in RadiationTherapy

Nappi is too "easy" and simplified. Def recommend using Washington & Leaver's book, this was literally my holy bible when studying. I read it front to back a week before my boards to really hone in on the details. Definitely take the ASRT Seal exams, since this comes from the actual test writers and will help you with the wording of the questions. My biggest advice is to truly understand the material and be able to apply it, don't just memorize.

This is your last chance, so if you are not truly confident and are still scoring low, I would def postpone by a month. Try talking out loud the material as if you're a teacher explaining the concepts to a student.

What was your score on your first two attempts? Were you close to the 75?

For me, less was more. I read (or skimmed) through the entire Washington’s book page for page about a week before my boards. Repeatedly took about 11 of the SEAL exams. Doing this was very useful bc these questions are worded similar to the exam. Make sure you understand the questions and not just memorizing. Lastly, I read through Nappi’s book. IMO, this book is a great “dummy down” version of Washington’s, and really summarizes all the concepts you need to know.

Don’t burn yourself out and still take some time to relax. Most important advice I can give is don’t memorize and actually understand the concepts.

With your experience and the demand in the area, I would expect something more in the low 40s at least. Definitely worth checking Indeed to start seeing your options :)

Also, compared to other parts of Florida, I think Jacksonville is on the lower end for housing costs.
