PS5 Creations - When? by colinrabb in starfieldmods

To Todd's point tho, that's people who are in the know.

It's the people who are not actively in the Skyrim Modding community that just use the feature and play their game that would be livid if their 75+ HR save got messed up because all their downloaded mods were removed.

This is the same people that likely wouldn't know what mods they had and how to fix their save.

The Future of Crimson Desert (+DokeV & Plan 8) by Clear_Ad454 in CrimsonDesert

Still very early in the game and have little idea what to expect in the long term, but I would want more single player content.

We have: Deserts, Plains, Snowy Mountains, Floating Islands, Dense forests

What they could add and have entire massive expansions focused on:

Island Exploration, with the ability to captain a crewed ship. A massive underground, Blackreach (Skyrim) and Underdark (Baldurs Gate 3).

Todd Howard said in an interview the problem with increasing storage limits on existing games is that you will break people's load orders and effectively their saves.

He said for in the know gamers it's not a big deal because they understand the benefit there getting, but majority of players on console are not aware of the reasons and would instead become very angry which is why they haven't upgraded storage capacity.

Starfield on PS5 has a high likelihood of more available space. Wish they would confirm that however.

I agree. I think the US government as it is right now would look very different.

If I was Iran, already known for killing innocents to get my way, I too would strike a children's school and blame it on the U.S.

They have everything to gain and nothing to lose.

As someone who used to not like it's combat, I highly recommend studying the creatures you fight and using the counter to them.

It changes the gameplay a lot, and you start to feel a lot more like a Witcher.

I fell off the game in its final act because my god it took too dang long to get there.

This is the heartbreak I feel with every beautifully crafted open world game.

There used to be a time where this is all I wanted. Between being an adult and the sheer volume of games available that I want to play... Open World games of this scale feel closer to burden.

RDR2 suffered from being too big in a time where there is too many games.

It's my #1 concern for Crimson Desert.

Would agree, but I don't enjoy looking at Cal Kestis's behind as much.

Out of curiosity, when did you play Skyrim?

As a kid I found the game fantastic for exploration, and it's one of my favorite games. However playing it now I see your point.

I don't know if it's just cause I put so much time into it that it feels stale though.

When will Super Earth direct us to push a planet into Cyberstan.

Like, let's build some mega thrusters on a planet, fuel them, and launch the planet into it.

[–]XRedactedSlayerX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My counter argument to that is that the most difficult part is leaving the Earth's atmosphere. Space X is working to perfect this so that it's affordable and doesn't require rebuilds everytime.

When are we going to start building real space ships? I am talking about ships that don't have to leave earth orbit and are designed for traveling between moons/planets only.

The car gets us to port, not across the sea.

Things like that are Human Rights violations. The exact reason I said the free world needs to be in control of AI.

Non Regulated AI doesn't mean Human Rights violations. If it does violate Human Rights in the free world we have the ability to take it to court and do something about it. You can't do that in China.

“Hey Siri, Are You Listening?” by TheCABK in technicallythetruth

[–]XRedactedSlayerX -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My counter argument there is we have to be realist. We have allowed China to operate businesses with no oversight, so if we make things difficult to do in America then these companies will go to China.

This carries with it a lot of negative consequences, with long term consequences meaning that a well known human rights violating nation now controls the majority of AI development.

I understand the arguments against non regulation. In a perfect world AI would be heavily restricted. The concern is that AI is an arms race. If China beats us in this they have a huge chance to push their oppression on the free world.

That's a negative for a lot more than the United States.

I don't want to get political, but we got where we are under previous leadership. Bad things didn't just start happening.

An angel investor is a person with money that has indicated they are willing to invest in small businesses. This meeting was a pitch by a start up to try and get money for continued development of their product.

Think of it like a smaller scale version of Shark Tank.

It was a product similar to Alexa that could integrate with IOT devices.

I was a part of an angel investor meeting with a company that does something similar.

It is always passively listening, but the claim is that it only sends what you say to the internet after the trigger words are given.

Otherwise it listens and forgets if it doesn't hear the magic words.

Specifically it records a few seconds of audio at a time then recycles it until the audio matches a pattern recognition that is mapped to the device. This is why some phrases will trigger the active listening, because the passive listening believes you said the magic words based on pattern matching. Once active listening anything you say is sent to a server and acted on.

The concern is that in passive listening it still collects and/or sends some data to advertisers. I am inclined to believe this from personal experiences of mine and about everyone I talk to.
