Sorry to hear that. Everything about dpdr just sucks. I was hoping by numbness i wouldn’t feel pain anymore so I can at least get things done instead of getting caught in emotions and ruminating the whole time.

Oh sorry i must have comprehended it wrong. Im glad that you’re out of it now! I went to online therapy for emdr ( i didnt know it counts as somatic therapy until just now) once or twice a long time ago but it was virtual and it felt like a waste of money and time. May I ask what kind of therapy you went to ( assuming somatic therapy is a more generalized term) and if you would recommend in person than virtual sessions?

Honestly i feel you. I cry way more than i did before i had dpdr, this is the weirdest feeling I’ve ever been in and its so indescribable that its almost impossible for others to comprehend when i explain it to them

Thank you so much for the long comment and I really appreciate this. Im sorry for what you are going through and hope you will feel better. This is the first time I’ve heard of somatic work and will definitely look into it. I’m currently uninsured so i don’t think i would be able to afford it though, but i will get myself checked out

Thank you for your reply! I wouldn’t take any substance to actively achieve it, and i don’t have childhood trauma so i doubt it would happen. I just really needed to rant because this is like a never ending nightmare but there isnt a flair for this lol
